MoJo Monday 80 & Our Creative Corner Challenge

Hi All!
This is my 2nd post today (30th).... meaning I won't be posting on Tuesday! I finally finished 2 of the projects I planned on doing today - other "stuff" got in the way and .... well! you know how it goes! :)
I combined the Mojo Monday sketch challenge with the OCC challenge ...which is a color challenge this week - using More Mustard, Not Quite Navy, and Bashful Blue! This seemed like an odd combo to me but I really like the finished card! So there you go! You never know how it will turn out until you're at the end of the project! Love that!
I apologize for the poor quality pic! If anyone out there has some suggestions for me on taking better pics I'd love your feedback! Thanks
Enjoy!

BLEACHING

HEY!
Are you nice and dry this morning? Boy! Did it rain and blow last night! I was awake at one point and there was thunder and lightning....that's a sure sign of spring, isn't it? I did some bleaching the other day - here are 2 cards I made using that technique - I used the flower from Embrace Life - this is a technique I've tried in the past and I'm still not sure if I like the result or not!
There is a great tutorial for this technique with Gina K. on Stamp TV... I like what she did with it.
I have 3 challenges to do today ... Mojo Monday; and 2 for my 6X6 "His Holy Name" scrapbook... gotta get cracking! :)
Thanks for stopping by!

Digital Paper!

HEY!
This blog just passed the 1000 "peeks" mark! How awesome is that?!!!!
I have a card to show you that I made using some "digital paper"...

Until the other day I wasn't even sure what "digital paper" was... I was on StampTV with Gina K... and saw a tab saying "freebies" - of course that caught my attention. Checked it out - found some paper give aways... downloaded them, saved them , then printed a few pages on white cardstock! On this card I used the striped quilted patterened paper - cut it with the Top Note and voila! Enjoy!
There is a stampers group set up for Nova Scotia on Stamp TV - at present there are only 8 members... those of you from our beautiful province might want to check this out, too!
Have a great day!

Stamps & Smiles Sketch Challenge #8 - Spring Song!

'Morning!
Thanks for stopping by!
I received some new DSP a couple nights ago! It's called Bella Bleu - coordinating colors are Vanilla, Not Quite Navy, Kraft - and of course, all these colors can be mixed and matched with more vibrant colors! As some of you know I have been a hoarder of DSP - but have been "letting go" for the past few months and using it!
I did the challenge at Stamps & Smiles ... and quite like the result! Hope you do too!
I just love this little bird - I colored him with markers and a blender pen - using Not Quite Navy and So Saffron - I've never seen a little fellow like this at my feeders but that doesn't mean he isn't out there somewhere! Right?

I found this great tutorial for the Ribbon Rose - and it is so easy!!!! - check out this site:

Here is my first attempt at using this Rose as an embellishment - I'm sure I'll be using it again and again!

It's supposed to go up to +10 today!!! :0 How awesome is that?
Here is a card I made using the Raspberry Tart DSP... there's something about this paper that keeps drawing me back to it! I took this picture outside yesterday! I'm hoping it will be of better quality than my other pics!
Enjoy!

I have many projects in my mind and am going to work on them over the next couple days... probably won't post again until Saturday!
Thanks for taking a peek!

Flower Burst!

Hi All!
Today I want to show you "before & after" pics of a card made with the Flower Burst Embosslit Die from Stampin'Up! I made the first card a while ago and just wasn't satisfied with it. The other day I pulled it out again and sponged ink on the flower and added some dew drops and - Voila! - a different card! It doesn't take much sometimes to add a little UMPH!
Hope you enjoy!

Have a wonderful day!
Peace and Joy!

The Butterfly!

Hi Everyone!
Where did this snow come from? I thought it was Spring time!!! :0
I am sooooooo tired of the cold and wind and snow. Yesterday morning the Cardinals were at my feeder - as they quite often are. I also heard the male singing his song outside my office window - I haven't heard that all winter! I suppose they are thinking about "spring time" too! LOL!

I thought I'd share this simple card with you - made with a Level 1 hostess set. If anyone is interested in earning a free Hostess set and some free merchandise give me a call and we'll plan a Workshop.
Just a reminder - Stampin' Up! will be returning to one catalogue per year as of July 2009 - WhoooHooo! I will be ordering cattys as I have in the past (late May or early June) - if you're interested in receving one, send me an email or give me a call to get your name on the list!

Have a great day!
Thanks for stopping by!
Peace and hugs!

Our Creative Corner Challenge - March 21

Hi All!
I had to post a second time today! I have just completed this card for Our Creative Corner Challenge.... every Saturday they post a sketch to challenge one's creativity! I find the sketches very inspirational - they make me think out side of the box I'm usually in!
Enjoy!
I used Cameo Coral as the base for the card; Raspberry Tart DSP; Riding Hood Red as the mat; Kiwi satin ribbon; a little heart charm I found kicking around the other day; and the spring flower stamp from "Always In My Thoughts". I KNOW I'll be using this sketch again and again.
I am looking at a wonderful sunset - awesome evening! Hope you're enjoying it!

This is just a quick post before I finally get to work! Have a great day!

Faux Postage

Good Afternoon!
I am having a moment of down-time as Madison is outside with Grampie; had a 10 minute power nap and now have supper on the stove! WOW! it takes a lot of energy to be a full-time Grammie!!! :0
Here are a couple cards I made last week using the Faux Postage template that can be found on SCS... Sherry - over at Crafty Creations did one of these for our Demo swap a couple weeks ago - I had to give it a try!
Hope you have enjoyed this beautiful day!!!! Madison and I took Buster and went for a walk on the track this afternoon! It was a great day for a walk! I hope you were able to get out and enjoy some of it!

Pocket Silhouettes

Good Morning!
Just a quick post to show you a couple cards I made using the "Pocket Silhouettes" stamp set from Stampin' Up! The set is reasonable in price and is very versatile - it has 4 flower satmps and 2 sentiment stamps.

I hope you can see that I stamped on the background card stock with versamark and then clear embossed the image...I like the effect this gives to the card.
About a month ago the gal at "scrapenextras" did a set of 4 different cards using this set - she does beautiful work! You might want to check out her blog sometime!
Have a wonderful restful Sunday -please keep me in your prayers as I travel today!
Thanks a bunch!
Blessings on yah!

Quilted Comfort

Good Morning Crafters!
Just a quick post before I prepare for my day.... I have a Workshop this afternoon - gotta finish packing for it! And have to run to town to pick up more Catty's - my downline - Sherry - put my order in with hers and they are here!
I saw a card done this way on Chic n' Scratch the other day and knew I had to try it before the day was out. So this one is totally cased from "Angie" - check out her blog and you'll find lots of great inspiration!Cut a 5 x 3& 3/4 piece of CS; cut DSP in squares (1 1/4 square); adhere the squares to the CS; run through Top Note; stitching is done using a marker; sponge the edges; embellish ... and Voila! a gorgeous card that can be used for any occasion!!! Have a great weekend! I will have my granddaughter with me next week for a few days so probably won't be posting as much - but you never know! :) I sure will enjoy her!!!
Blessings!

Easter Chick!

Hi All!
It's so nice to see the sun! But ohhhhhh - does it ever show up the dirty windows!!!! Gotta do something about that! However, NOT TODAY!!!! I have a workshop tomorrow that I need to do final prep for today; and have clients all afternoon! I wanted to post something before I started all of that so here is an Easter card I made using "A Good Egg" stamp set from Stampin' Up! I will use this set for more than Easter - as we have hens and chicks and eggs on the farm and I am already thinking about how I can adapt it to "farming" as we know it!

Here's the card...

I paper pieced the eggs and tucked the little chick in behind them, popping one of the eggs on dimensionals. Isn't he cute - peeking out there? Almost like he's saying, "Oh, oh! what is this place?" I have a crazy imagination sometimes!

Have a wonderful day! Be glad in it & keep smiling!

Blessings! Ruthie

Flourished Cross

Hi crafters!
Time got away from me today! Had a client this a.m ... who called at the last minuite to rebook! Those things happen! Also had an eye appointment to have my eyes checked... nothing has changed in my prescription... that's a good thing! Picked up a few groceries on the way home... trying to eat lots more fruit and veggies! Seems like I'm always in the grocery store!!!

I've been trying to re-organize my ribbon and card stash - yah! I said stash! It seems I make cards and have an abundance of them at the moment.... a couple months ago I was down to nothing! I also seem to be collecting some unmounted stamps - as well as have been taking some of my older ones off of the wood blocks ... have found a way to "store" them which gives me easy access and visibility!
'Nuff said about all that!

Here is an Easter card I made about a month ago using the Flourised Christian Symbols set from Our Daily Bread Designs!

Thanks for stopping by today!
Blessings on yah!

A "Simple Hi"

Hi All!
I see sunshine! WhooooHoooo! I noticed yesterday that my Lillies are starting to peek thru the old stuff... I didn't do very good at cleaning up my gardens last fall - I'll get out there soon and do that job! I so love to see all the newness that Spring brings with it!

I made a card yesterday for someone I haven't seen in a while... and it turned out so good I wanted to share it with you! I used Bashful Blue CS; Pacific Point Ink and DSP from "Tea Party"; a stick pin made from some old beads I had kickin' around (actually have a boxful!); I took one of the "Labels Two" Nesties, cut & embossed it, then took a smaller one and cut it out to make a frame! So Cool!

Enjoy this beautiful Day!
This IS the day! Rejoice and be glad in it!
Blessings!

MoJo Monday #77

Hi Everyone...
I have just spent the afternoon with a friend - using my new(and older) Nesties... I found the new ones I purschased the other day at The Cutting Garden at the Pharmasave Plaza on Hammonds Plains Road! They have awesome "stuff" there! Also got some Robin's Nest Dew Drops and ordered a Scor-Pal ... she has sold out of these 2 or 3 times! How I wish we had a place like this around our town!

Since it is Monday I went to the Mojo Monday site to see their sketch... here it is as well as the card I made! I used Tea Party DSP, CuttleBug, and some of my new dew drops!
This really keeps me motivated on a Monday morning!
Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek!

A Simple Easter Card

Good Monday Morning!
I arrived home Sunday around 5 p.m. from my daughter's .... had a great time being a full-time Grammie! Crazy weather though! Had snow on Friday after I arrived there... Gorgeous day on Saturday - we were actually out for moments at a time in our shirt sleeves! Awoke to a major snow storm Sunday morning! Go figure! The drive home wasn't bad at all as it had turned to rain and the roads were clear; the sun came out in Bridgetown!

Just a quick post to show you an Easter card I made using the Simple Flower Embosslit die and the Little Leaves Sizzlit die ... will have more for you on Tuesday! And - I'll tell you about a really cool place I found that sells stampin' stuff!!!!

Have a great day!

Scripture Memorization Journal

Hi All!
I drove to my daughter's in Sackville on Friday... had a great drive up - only ran into snow just outside of Sackville - within an hour eveything was covered. We went out about 4:30 and it was quite slippery! Hopefully it all goes away before I head for home on Sunday!
Don't forget to set your clocks AHEAD on Saturday night!!! Won't it be great to have more daylight in the evening? I sure think so!

Here is my submission for the monthly "Our Daily Bread Designs" Scripture challenge. I am doing a "memorization journal" ... this is March's entry!
Have a great weekend!
Blessings!

Mojo Monday76 On Tuesday!

Hi All!

Here is a card I made for a swap I'm doing tonight with the other Demos in my group... (Upline; Sideline; Downline)... We're planning a Spring Stampin' Up! event so stay tuned!!!
I used the sketch from MoJo Monday to make this card so I "killed two birds with one stone".
I'll post this card on that site next.
Had fun doing it ... not the type of card I usually do with everything lined up so symetrically but I quite like the finished product. Hope you do too! Have a wonderful day!
