I didn't do any stamping yesterday but I do have another inspiration from "around the house"!

CAS (Clean And Simple)

Good Morning!
Hey! Wasn't yesterday a beautiful one? As you know, I love the warm sunny days!

Early in the evening I had a brain-wave to use my Nesties and this card is the result of it! I saw a sketch similar to this on a site I was checking - for the life of me can't remember where I was... I think that card actually had some ribbon and a sentiment on it. I just wanted to do something with my Nesties - and - so I did! I Embossed the Kiwi Kiss with the Cuttle Bug and then cut with Nesties Labels 2; decided these 4 pieces needed a border so cut out some white borders using a larger Labels 2. Nestie; lightly sponged the Kiwi with White ink and the White with Kiwi Ink! Something I do on almost everything I make --- sponge! The large Scallop is from the die cut Scallop Circle #2 - I also sponged this with Kiwi and stamped the Bird from "Friends 24-7" on it.
Hope you like it!
Thanks for checkin' in!

Have a crafty day!
Blessings,
Ruthie

What Inspires You?

Hi Everyone!

Last Friday I rec'd my monthly copy of Stampin' Success from S. Up! - this magazine is full of ideas! One current article was about using everyday items in the home as inspiration for layouts for cards or scrapbook pages. I decided to give this a shot and came up with a couple of cards... will show you one today! I used a label from a favorite drink of mine - White Cranberry drink - here is a pic of the label I used.
What do you think?
How did it turn out?
You might want to try this yourself when the MOJO gets depleted.... :)
Enjoy this day and .... may it be filled with blessings!

Spring-y Card

Hi All!
I hope you weren't deceived by the title! This is NOT a "spring card"; it is a "Spring card" (seasonal).... I have not made one of those where there are springy items inside ...must try that sometime! Here is a simple spring card I made with some left over stuff that was sitting on my craft table ... I pulled out an old stamp set called "Just Celebrate", used the flowers and butterfly from this set - as well as the sentiment... added some dew drops and - voila!

I'm "working" for hubby today.... which means my time is my own except for when a customer arrives.... hopefully I'll get caught up on some personal stamping; I have a S.Up! Workshop the first of the week so I must get things in order for that! I also have a Sunday School lesson to prepare this weekend!

Have a great Friday!
Blessings and hugs!

Glittery Flamingo!

Hi All!
This will be short and sweet - the next few days are busy ones for me between Bible study, Counseling, Dr. appt, doing some work on the design of my Devotional blog..... I'll see you some time on Friday - hopefully I'll have another addition by then.

Here is a card I made from the DSP "Pink Famingo" - I'm not so much into the flamingos as I am into the colors: Chocolate Chip, Summer Sun, Real Red, Tempting Turquoise, Cameo Coral.
I cut a piece with the flamingo on it with the Top Note and then added lots of glitter...

Enjoy!
Blessings and Hugs, and may the Lord be with you!

MOJO Monday on Monday!

Hi Everyone!
Another post today!
I completed the MOJO sketch today - haven't completed a Mojo Monday challenge on Monday for a long time so thought I should upload immediately!!! I combined this sketch challenge with the color challenge from Color Throwdown - every Wednesday we are given another color challenge. This past Wednesday it was to use Ruby Red, Basic Gray, Baja Breeze together... My first thought was, "Ugh! this will never work!" - But HEY! I think I pulled it off! What do you think?
I LOVE this stamp set from Our Daily Bread Designs! I KNOW! The bird is rather unique isn't he? Well, so are all of God's creations! :)
Enjoy!

Blessings ---

Baby Wipe Technique

Happy weekend!
I've been playing around with the baby wipe technique - the background of this card and the stamped image are both made using variations of this technique. Used Kiwi Kiss as the main CS for the card.... the picture just doesn't do it justice. We received word yesterday from our accountant that we both will be getting some $$$$ back from income tax! WhoooHoooo! I plan on getting a new camera! Anyone have any suggestions for me?
Sent in an order to Stampin' Up! last night! .. Gotta get ready for our SPRING EXPO on the 9th of May..... nothing like leaving things to the last minute, aye!
Blessings to you this weekend!
Hugs!

Posting Comments

After reading Sherry's "post comment " this morning I thought I'd add it here - go to post a comment; write it; fill in the letters/numbers; hit post comment.... if it doesn't go thru fill in letters again and hit "post comment" a second time - and it should work! I just tried it and it worked for me! and it worked for me on her site!
let me know if you try and it doesn't work!

A New Background Technique

Hi All!
Another sunny day!
If you look closely at the completed card you will see a background I made using pieces of rubber - placed them on an acrylic block in a random fashion; inked them with Chocolate Chip and then stamped on the Kraft CS - another way to achieve background paper without any expense! I'm sure you'll all have "pieces" of rubber left when you put your stamp sets together.... this is one way to use that up; another way is to cut them into small pieces and use these as "pop-dots". I used the set "Upsy Daisy" from Stampin' Up! to stamp the focal image. This is such a versatile set!

I decided to try something else with these rubber pieces on the block and here is the result!

I used 3 different colors: Pacific Point; Riding Hood Red; Kiwi Kiss ..... stamped them randomly on a piece of Whisper White CS and then cut it into pieces for various cards... I'll show you the finished cards at a later date! What am I going to do when these colors are gone!!!! :0
The Blue and Green have been my fav "In Colors" since I started with Stampin' Up!

Have a wonderful day! and a great weekend ... where does the time go? April is flying by!
Blessings and Hugs!

Thankful Thursday!

Hi All!
It's a little after midnoght - now Thursday A.M. - and the counter just passed the 1600 mark - That just blows me away!
It seems that life has been quite hectic since last week this time... I am thankfully looking forward to some quiet time this weekend... Friday is a day pretty much to myself, and Saturday hubby is away at a farmer's auction - he'll probably come home with more cattle! :0

I am off to Bible Study this morning... that's always a refreshing time spent with the gals!
Here's a simple card I made a while back! I used the heart stamp from Wagon Full of Fun; some black and silver glittery paper I got at Michaels last fall; the brushed silver paper from S. Up! and there is glitter on the heart but you can't see it very well in the pic!
Enjoy!
Gotta get some more stampin' done this weekend -I'll have lots to show you next week! Have learned a couple new techniques - well! new to me anyway! So I'll be showing them off! [hopefully]
Have a great day!
Hugs and Joy!

MoJo82 Sketch

Good Morning!
Here is my contribution - on Wednesday - to the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge.... Ummmmm... seems like I often don't get this completed and posted until Wednesday! I used Kraft as my background CS; Bella Bleu DP; a Stamp from "A Flower For All Seasons"; Not Quite Navy Ink; Markers; Very Vanilla Ribbon and a button. I quite like the end product! Hope you do too!
Have a great day!
Hugs and blessings,

Better Pic ???

Here is a better picture of the trifold card I posted about this morning...
at least, I hope it is a better pic!!! :0

Tri-fold With Flower

Hi all!
As I am getting ready to post this I see that the counter is at 1497 ... meaning that sometime today it will hit the 1500 mark! How cool is that??!!!!
Please leave me any comments you might have regarding how you would like to see things changed - if at all; or if you have questions or want info, whatever! I love hearing from you!

I'm posting a card I made Monday evening... cut my CS lengthwise from top to bottom so the initial piece was 11" long by 4 &1/4" .... then scored it at 2" and 6&1/2"... did some diagonal score lines on the front panel; stamped the small flowers on the white flower from the "Pretties Kit"....
also stamped them on the inside CS...
So easy to do! Any stamps would work to make a quick card for someone!

Have a great day!
Peace and Joy -

A Wonderful Day!

Good Morning!
Isn't it great to see the sun? It's time for me to get outside and get to work in my gardens - that almost seems like a daunting project this year! I hope not.
For today I have a very clean and simple (CAS) card to show you using the flower pot from the Wagon Full of Fun set in the Occasions Mini! I must say that this flower pot and flower have become a fav. of mine! One of the sentiments is "Treat yourself to a wonderful day!" I hope you will do that today!
Have a great Easter weekend...my girl and her hubby and their girl are coming home tonight! Can't wait to see them!
Gotta run! I'm off to church for the Women's Study - we're doing Beth Moore's study of "Esther - It's Tough Being a Woman!" But Hey! you know what? I wouldn't have it any other way!
Blessings and hugs,
Ruthie

HEY!

Hi All!
I made a boo-boo when I posted about our demo meeting.... I guess I posted under the wrong date so it is still showing as Monday!!! Should have been Tuesday! Must have been too much caffeine or too late when I did it!!! The caffeine did keep me awake! Gotta stop drinking the stuff at night I guess! UMMMM! But it's so good!
Just for that I'll give you another peek at something I've created lately -
I used Very Vanilla as the base CS; a piece of "Ink, Spray, Smash" paper I made a while ago...and the Cross and Scripture from Our Daily Bread Designs.
Blessings of the Easter Season to you all!
Hugs!

Demo Swap - April

Hi Everyone!
Here is the card I made for our Demo meeting last night. I used the set Wagon Full of Fun from the new Occasions Mini and I used Kiwi Kiss with the Pink. We met to put final plans to our Spring fling expo being held May 9/09 at Maple Grove from 9:30 - 1:30. Make sure to mark this date on your calendar!

Previously I had made this same card using Riding Hood Red with the Pink ... not sure which I like best? How about you? I added glitter to the frosting on both cards although it is difficult to see in the pics; and the diamond shape was scored with the Scor-pal.Thanks for stopping by!
Have a great day!
Blessings - Ruthie

Pink & Chocolate!

Good Morning!
At times I seem to gravitate toward the Pink and Chocolate colors... they are so pretty together! I purchased some fancy paper at Michael's a while ago and decided to use some of it to make a couple Birthday cards.
They are pretty basic cards but I take delight in the color combos!
Enjoy!
The Occasions Mini from Stampin' Up! is now in effect - April 1 thru June 30... You can go to the S. Up! website and have a look at the mini... Call or email me to place an order!
I have one of the sets from the Mini - Wagonload of Fun .... I'll be showing you some cards this week that I've made using this set!
Grace and Peace -
Thanks for stopping by!

Scor-Pal Thank You

Hi everyone!
Hope you're having a great weekend. I have been creating away - Trying to use up some scraps I've had kicking around... you know! That pile of "stuff" that didn't get used for another project and gets set aside for a later time - which sometimes is a long time coming!
I made this card all from pieces such as that - even the red base - this was a piece I had cut for a Valentine card! The green was run thru the CuttleBug using S.Up! plates; the scalloped green and the DP were pieces I had cut for "something"; the Vanilla was scored with my new Scor-Pal, then pierced with my piercing tool and a small flower stamped in some of the blocks; the leaves on the scallop piece (which was for an Easter card - as was the ribbon) were ones I found when I locted my stash of beads a few weeks ago! LOL :0
Not bad, aye?
Try it some time! Haul out those scraps and test your creativity!!!!
Hope you enjoyed!
Blessings!

Birthday Cards

HEY!
It is now officially Spring - I heard the "peepers" last night !!! That is the sound that always signifies to me that spring is officially here! Were you able to stay dry last night? The Meadow down in back of us is overflowing. The guy across from us has a barn built on the edge of the meadow - I keep wondering when it is going to fill up with water - so far this hasn't happened!

Had a great day yesterday - cleaned up my stamping room and went right to work! This morning I had to clean it up again. :0 A friend came over about mid-afternoon and we stamped our little hearts out! Seems I've been making a lot of Birthday Cards lately - guess you could say "I'm on a roll"! Haven't taken pics of yesterdays yet - here are 2 I did earlier in the week!

Enjoy!
Have a great weekend!
Grace and Peace to you!

Potter's Hand Scor-Pal

TGIF!
I imagine there are a lot of you saying "thank goodness it's Friday!" Since I retired it really doesn't matter much to me - except I like the weekends my hubby has off .... and that is this coming weekend (a 4 day one!).

I received my Scor-Pal on Thursday... of course, I had to put it to use almost immediately! Have found some interesting things to do with it! Will be sharing them as I go along!
Here is a 51/2 X 51/2 card I made using the new Our Daily Bread set "The Potter's Hand" -
I scored the 5 X 5 piece of Very Vanilla, sponged it, stamped the pots in Really Rust and stamped them off once, each, before stamping them on the VV. Then stamped a set of pots and colored them ... the rest is pretty basic! I haven't made a card this size for a while - think I like it for a change!

Have a wonderful day and a great weekend!
Resting in HIM,

The Potter's Hand

Hi All!
I'm trying something new here! Writing this at almost midnight on Wednesday and settign a time to post so it will be there for Thursday morning! Hope this works!

I received a new set from Our Daily Bread Designs - "You Are The Potter"... I loved this stamp set from the moment I first saw it. One of my favorite verses in Scripture is this one found in Isaiah 63:8 - Yet, O Lord, You are our Father. We are the clay , you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.
Right away I made a card using this set... I thought this could be used as a masculine Birthday Card.
Enjoy!
Have a great day!
Blessings to yah!

Manhattan Textured Impressions Die

Hey!
Isn't this a gorgeous morning? I so love to see the sun shining! However it shows me how dirty my windows are! UGH! That means I have to get out there and clean them! :(
But not right now!
I have a card to show you made with the Manhattan Textured Die from Stampin' Up! I cased this card from Julie at Paper Pleasing Ideas...
I used the die on the CS; cut out around the upper part; colored in the flowers using my ink pads and a blender pen (Pacific Blue & Night of Navy); decorated the inside of the card ... and there you have it!
ENJOY!
Joy and Peace to you today!
