Pretty Petals

Good Morning!
Wasn't yesterday a wonderful day? It is still hard to believe that at 9 pm it is light out! I LOVE IT!!!!!! Had a workshop last night ... it was very successful - lots of fun! This is NOT the card we did there...
This card was made about a week ago - I used the "Pretty Petals" background stamp on a piece of white CS and then cut it into 2 pieces and matted them with Night of Navy... the sentiment is from the set "Three Little Words" ... and I know just the person I'm giving this too!
Have a great day!
Thanks for peeking in! Come again!

Three Little Words!

Hi all!
Good News! I believe I'm ready for my workshop tonight!
I received a new set a couple weeks ago and have only recently put ink to it... it's a great set... called Three Little Words... 3 words that can mean so much to the one who receives them... Our words have such an effect on people! They can be the bearers of life - or of death! But we won't go into all that here! I wrote a Devotional about that a while ago! You could check it out on my Devotional site - see link to the right of the screen!

Here is my card using this set...
Enjoy and have a wonderful day!

Nesties X 2

Good Morning everyone!
Hope you had a restful weekend and are now ready to face the world again! I know - there are some of you out there who work shift work and have to work weekends ... so they aren't always restful... I do hope though, that when you have time off you nurture yourself... that you take time to rest and realx!

I made this card using Bashful Blue CS as the main piece; Urban Garden DP; Night of Navy as the mat CS.
I cut out the main image and mat using the Deckled Rectangles; the DP and other pieces were cut using the Labels Three Nestie; used Night of Navy ink; and ..... again!!! - "Friends 24-7".

This is Take #2 - changed the layout to 'landscape', different image from same set!

Have a great day!
Blessings on yah!

Friends... again!

Hi All!
Can't you tell I love this set? I find it so versatile... I am showing this card twice... the first card is the initial card - I thought it needed something more so I added the dew drops... what do you think? Did it need more? Was it OK? Are the dew drops an improvement?
I used the Dahlia Nestie; Walk in the Park DP; Friends 24/7; Kiwi SatinRibbon;...Clean and simple!

Have a wonderful day!

Butterflies Galore!

Good Morning!
Wasn't yesterday an awesome day? I spent a lot of time outside.... making a new flower
garden along the side of hubby's abattoir...so I transplanted a lot of stuff! It's going to look really nice!
Anyhooo! The other night I was wide awake at 1:30 a.m. ... go figure! I think it must have been b/c I had an iced cappachino about mid-afternoon... could that do it? So - I was awake - what to do? To my craft room I headed! I had a Tri-Shutter card to finish up and I knew I wanted to put some butterflies on it... so I pulled out the CuttleBug; cut and embossed a whole bunch of them! Using a CB die and folders...

The card turned out nice too, I think!
Here are a some of the butterflies!
And here they are taking flight!
Have a wonderful day!
Blessings on yah!

WhipperSnapper stamps!

Hi All!

Just a quick post to show you a couple cards I made using 2 new stamps from Whipper Snapper Designs! Some of you know that hubby is a farmer in his spare time! { :0 } and we now have added some pigs to the menagerie... so I just had to have the stamp with the 3 animals on it!!! He is a "Ford" man and a chicken farmer so consequently I had to have the other one too!

Here is a masculine Thank You card and a masculine Birthday Card using these two stamps!

The license plate on this one is "CKNFMR" .... I love it ! I told hubby he should get a plate like this one!!!!

Thanks for peeking in today!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Color Throwdown #43 for Nina!

Here is my submission for the colorthrowdown #43 challenge - Elegant Eggplant, Old Olive, Lavender Lace... Nina from http://ninabdesigns.blogspot.com/ - who designed my signature - provided this Digi stamp... I downloaded it from her site and printed it on Whisper White CS; colored it with markers and Blender pen; also used a piece of Digi paper from ???? - I'm sorry I don't remember where I got it from - the colors are gorgeous!!!! It was just sitting here waiting to be used and today was the day, as it went so well with the throwdown colors! I love the sentiment inside the card - also from Nina.

I probably won't post anything until Friday as I have a busy day on Thursday!
yah it worked!
Hey Nina - and everyone - it worked!!!!

Tri-Fold Shutter Card Tutorial

Hello everyone!
I am going to try my hand at giving you a tutorial on making this card... it is so cool once it is completed... I am a hands-on visual learner! I need to see things done in order to comprehend them! It's always good for me to have written instructions and the visual together! I know there are probably a lot of similar tutorials out there in "Scrappin' land" but here's my take on this card!
One of the gals at our "get-together" the other night had brought some instructions on how to do this - I have refined them and made my own!

Let me know if it makes sense or if you need clarification!! :)

Here is the almost completed card .... I have not added any embellishments to it - as you can see - I will do that and show you the finished project tomorrow! I have 2 different ones made to this point - that's when I had the "brainwave" to do a tutorial .... it took me this long to figure it out! BUT - hey! easy now!!!!!

First - let me give you some written directions:
A) Cut Card Stock 5&1/2" by 12"... do not fold until project is completed.

B) Score at 2", 4", 8", 10"

C) Measure in 1&1/2" on both long sides and cut from the 2" score line to the 10"score line.

D) Cut Designer Paper 5 &1/4" by 12".

E) From the DP cut 2 pieces - 3 &3/4" by 5&1/4".

F) Take these 2 pieces and cut from the top and bottom of each one, pieces
measuring 1&1/2" by 2"... making a 'T' shape.

G) This will give you 4 left over pieces - cut these down to 1&1/4" by 1&3/4".

H) Cut remaining DP into the following: two pieces measuring 1&1/4" by 3&3/4"; one piece measuring 2& 1/4" by 3&3/4".
I) Adhere DP to CS.

J) Fold on fold lines - being careful NOT to fold on the score line where the sideways T is.

K) Embellish !
This is what you will have after you score and cut the cardstock...

This is one of the 3&3/4" by 5&1/4" pieces - on the back side - on each end I have drawn in pencil lines 2" X 1&1/2" - these areas will be cut out to make a "T" shape.

Here is this piece with the 2 corner pieces removed from it.
I have begun to adhere the DP to the cardstock...
Here - a few more pieces added...

Folded and standing on end so you can see the mountains and valleys!
Another view:

Have fun with this!

Cameo Coral and "Rose"

Good morning!
Did you float away yesterday! Wow! It rCheck Spellingeally rained didn't it? Makes me think of Noah, the Ark, and all the rain!

Here is another card I made at our get-together the other night. I used Cameo Coral for the base CS, Raspberry Tart DP, Regal Rose ink; and the sentiment from the "Friends 24-7" stamp set.
I have about 4 challenges I hope to get accomplished within the next few days - keep checking! And Hubby has asked me to make some thank you cards for him to put in his promotional packages!!! Guess I'll be busy!

Thanks for peeking!
Smiles and hugs!

Happy Sunday!

I was asked the other day to make a journal for someone... I haven't done this for quite some time - I suppose because I've done this for all my friends and they are using them ... I know we have all done this but I wanted to show you a new stamp I received on Saturday....yah! the post office is open til noon on Saturday! The stamp I used on the larger journal came from WhipperSnapperDesigns... Can't wait to show you a couple of the others. So - Here are the 2 journals I made - now I think I'll make a couple more larger ones!

Have a great Sunday! I pray the SON is shining in your heart!

The Morning After...

Good Morning!
Eight gals got together last night to stamp and chat! A fun time was had by all! For me - it took a bit for the mojo to kick in but once it did.... I made 5 different cards - mind you, I had the CS cut for the base card already... and I used "stuff" from my "scrap kit". Do you have one of those? Things you have already colored; or cuttlebugged; or punched; or nestied (if that's a word); or...... I keep telling myself that I'm not going to cut any new paper until I use all this up ... but hey! it never happens!

Here are a couple of the cards I made last night!
Enjoy! Have a great weekednd!

A Simple Thank you!

Good afternoon!

It's a rather dismal one! I went into my "craft room" to begin to pack my bag for a "stampin' night" with some girlfriends... a bunch of us are getting together tonight to stamp and chat at our church... But I can't for the life of me figure out what to take! Guess that means I have too much to choose from??? So - sitting on the table was a piece of Pacific Point with the gold attached ... and I just began to "play" from there... coloring some flowers; stamping a large piece of white with flowers and a few leaves...
Here is a simple thank you card using a flower from the Fifth Avenue set; using In Color Ink; & some dew drops!
Pretty basic - pretty simple - pretty!
I really have to go get my act together and get my bag packed soon!

See Yah!
Thanks for looking!

Smiles and hugs!

Pacific Point Card

Hi All!
Well! I finally completed the card to go with the ..... ..... did you guess? It is a teacup that was my mom's. She has been gone for almost 20 years now. I kept some of her most beautiful teacups as I loved the colors! That's me!!! Lovin' colors!!!
I can remember when I was a kid she would have special guests come in for tea and would bring out the special cups and saucers - this was one of them. Isn't it gorgeous?

Here is the card I made using this cup and saucer as my inspiration! I stamped the flowers with Chocolate Chip and colored them in with markers and blender pen... clear embossed each image as I went along as I wanted some depth to the flowers ... it worked pretty well! I scored the Gold CS with my scor Pal and used the Nesties "Labels 2"... I really like how this turned out. Hope you do too!
Have a great evening - see you tomorrow! Ruthie

Thursday Already!

I had an inspiration hit me yesterday and I truly hoped to have a card here this morning .... but ... as you can see it didn't happen... I'm still working on it. I was out last night and am out the door very shortly this a.m.
I may have some time to complete my card this afternoon....

Here is a sneak peak at the colors I am putting together!
I am using Pacific Point, Rose Red, Pretty in Pink, So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Gold, White...

have a wonderful day!
The sun is shining and so is the SON!!!!!!!!!!!! Whoooo Hooooo!

Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge#17 on Tuesday!

Hi everyone!
Here is my take on the SSSC17 from "the sweetest thing" at http://kgiron.blogspot.com/
Of course, I swayed from the sketch a little.... but you know how it is! Once the juices get going it's hard to stop them... I used a topnote, cut in half for the top part of the card - I rather like this and will do it again! I've never seen this done but I'm sure somebody out there has tried it!
I will definitely use this sketch for more cards!
I took some pictures yesterday and am thinking of putting out a color challenge to you all later this week... I will try and figure out how Mr. Linky works - otherwise it'll be a "do your own thing"!
More later!

It's MOJO Monday again! Here is this week's sketch...
Here is my take on the MOJO sketch ... I changed the layout from landscape to portrait and of course, had to do a little "slant" on things! I just don't like things all lined up nice and perfect!!!! Symmetry ... ummmmm - I need it a "little off" - wonder what that says about me! Maybe I don't want to know! :) I used the stamp set "Friends 24-7" from stampin' Up!; Bella Bleu DP; Bashful Blue and Kraft CS; markers to color.

Thanks for peeking in...
See you later tomorrow!
