In The Pink!

Good Morning!
Today is the last day of August! How can that be possible? What happened to summer - that most of us look forward to so much! Kids return to school this week; and things get back to "normal". Maybe I should put a question mark there??? for what is normal???? I love fall but don't want to think of it coming so soon!
ENOUGH!!!

Here is a card I was working on Friday - then I rec'd a call that family was coming home.... needless to say I didn't finish it until Sunday! I actually think I'll send it off to them telling them how "joyful" I am when I see them! The pink - is S. Up! Pink Pirouette (retired)... the other CS and DP non-S.Up!
I used a retired set to stamp the 'joyful' (Amazing to Zany) and found the word was too small for the punch so I doodled some dots! I like this! The flower is from a new S. Up! set - Herb Expressions.

Thanks for peeking in today! I hope to do some challenges and have lots to show you this week ... I am "manning the shop" for hubby today so won't be leaving the house - if anyone wants to stop in and stamp - "come on over!"

Snowmen???

Hi everyone!
Did you find it cool last night? I even closed the patio doors earlier than usual! And turned off the kitchen fan!
I have a couple of winter cards to show you... don't interpret this to mean I want winter to come 'cuz that isn't so! I am not a big fan of winter... however I love snowmen and making snowmen cards! To make these 2 cards I used stamps from "Clear Dollar Stamps" - I've had them for months but it seemed sinful to ink them up in June!!! :D

I get a chuckle out of this guy who's melting!

Hope you enjoyed this peeeeeek this morning. Have a great day! The sun is shining bright and it looks like a good one!

Card - Making Guests!

Morning everyone!
As promised, I have some cards to show you that were made by friends the other day! Myra came to visit and as we were creating Janie stopped in ... Janie says she is not a "crafter" --- here is the card she made for her sister! I think she did a great job.
Myra made 2 cards: this one is a sympathy card ...

and this one could be used for any occasion. She was taking this one home and adding some bling to it! I haven't a pic of it with the bling ... I like the effect of the 2 colors alone!

Here is my card for the afternoon! I used Cameo Coral and the new Suede color... again, no sentiment as I'll decide that when I use it and will put it inside!
It's always fun to get together and stamp, and talk, and laugh!
Hope you enjoyed your visit today! Thanks for stopping by!
Blessings,
Ruthie

Winter in August!

Hi There!
Well! The inspiration finally hit me! A couple friends came to visit yesterday and we made cards... and I made this Winter Card!!!

I used Real Red CS; the DP is from my purchases over the past months; the stamps are from Clear Dollar Stamps - aren't they cute? I used the Snowflake folder to emboss the DP; colored in the images with Stampin' Up! markers. Clean and Simple...

Tomorrow I'll post the cards the other gals made! Have a great day! Thanks for stopping by... Don't forget to check yesterday's post for Rainbow Challenge #1.... I'd love to see what you can come up with!

RAINBOW CHALLENGE #1

Hi!
I'm back - it is now 1150 a.m. and I have a another post for you! I used Summer Sun, Tempting Turquoise, Cameo Coral, Blush Blossom ... I used a non-S.Up! punch (one of the first ones I ever bought); some linen thread and gems. Hope you enjoy what I've done! looking forward to seeing your creations!

Hi All!
As well as all the challenges we have to face day-to-day, the crafting blog world seems to be full of them! I have not done one for ages it seems! I seem to be in a slump of some sort - so I am challenging myself today! In the process of that I decided to challenge you as well. So --- are you ready? Here goes!

The second and fourth Mondays of each month will be a "Rainbow Challenge"! You can use the colors I give you to create anything your heart desires , using any sketch layout you prefer - card, scrapbook page, 3D item - anything! Once you've done that, email me a copy of your card titling it Rainbow Challenge # __; to thisistheday@ns.sympatico.ca - I will post what I think are the top 5 before the next challenge is issued to you! How cool is that?! I don't have a "mr. linky" but maybe I'll figure it out soon ... for now - email me!!! Love yah all!

I took these pics (with my old camera) from a magazine way back in the spring - I think. The colors inspired me at the time! :)

Don't you just love that hat? ;)

Colors: Blue (turquoise or deep); Coral or Peach and/or Pink; White; Yellow; Blush or Tan.

I don't have a sample for you just yet - will post as soon as it is finished!
Have fun and enjoy your day!

God's Beauty ...

Hi All!
A quick post before I head to the Market ... I'm later this morning as I had "stuff' to do home first!
Here is a quick card I made using DP I purchased at the Dollar Store a while ago! And a stamp I've had for a while. The sentiment is from the old hostess set - God's Beauty - this is one I will keep!!!!
Have a great day everyone!

p.s. - the saga continues....last night around 1230 I heard noises outside - still had the bedroom light on as I was reading - got up and turned a couple other lights on - looked out - could see nothing. This a.m. hubby found our mailbox torn off its post!!!! Go figure! How thankful I am that "greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world!"

Another Club Card

Good morning everyone -
Just a quick post this morning ...

Here is the other card we made at Club the other night - the ribbon is organza that has been heated to make it crinkle!
One of the gals (Cindy) did her own twist on this card - she reversed the DSP and used the little pieces of left over ribbon - great job, Cindy!

I hope to get some creating done today but I don't know if I'll squeeze it in or not! I am meeting with a gal this afternoon, and we are opening the Farmer's Market from 4 - 7 on Thursdays now ... so ... only time will tell!
Have a great day!

Hi everyone!
Our first Club Night was Tuesday night... 11 crafters in attendance. We had a blast! Hostessess have been picked for the coming year! Everyone is excited about that! Here is a close up of the faux alligator technique...

Here is the sample card using the Faux Alligator technique... this is a fun one to do!

Have a wonderful day! I'm kinda hoping for a little cooler weather - what about you? But still some sunshine!!! :0) Whatever we get - It is HIS day and I will rejoice in it!

OSW #2

Hi everyone!
How's this for humidity??? I spent the morning in an air-conditioned room at the Hospital doing an Orientation Session - it was quite nice! :)
I have 2 fans going here at home but - it`s kinda sticky!

Here is another card I made using pieces of the One Sheet Wonder I stamped a while ago!
This was quick and easy ... clean and simple ... the bow is made with organza ribbon and then heated with the heat tool to make it curl.
Hope you`ve had a great day!
I will not be posting again until Wednesday - my first Club night is Tuesday night - I will have pics for you on Wednesday!

MOJO -WHERE'D YOU GO?

Good Day.
I thought I'd have a card for you today -
but my MOJO seems to have hidden itself from me! I can't find it!!!!

I don't know about you but I find it frustrating when I know what I want to do but it just doesn't come together!

My plan for today is to get my hair and nails done; look for some photo ops; maybe even go for a walk on the beach with Teddie; and first, and foremost, spend some quality time with God!
Then I'll be rejuvenated, I know!!!
See you tomorrow for sure!

Gratitude!

Happy Tuesday morning everyone!

I've been "lazy" this morning - surfed the net and made a card... really have to get to work after I post this!

I used the CuttleBug folder Pumpkin Harvest on some Really Rust CS the other day - it has been sitting on my table calling to me for 2 days now! :o) - so I decided to do something with it.

I used Summer Sun as the base for the card, and the Bright Blessings jumbo wheel for the sentiments and leaves. When I saw the wheel in the Catty I had a plan to take the stamp off the wheel and cut it in 2 pieces and use with my acrylic blocks ... well, as I began working with it this morning I saw many uses for it and have now cut it into numerous "sentiments"... Imagine! Me who didn't want to have anything to do with unmounted stamps!

Anywhoooo! Here's the gratitude card I just finsihed!
Enjoy the day!
Be creative!

Two Challenges!

Here I am again today!
I actually stamped and did 2 challenges this afternoon. Well, I combined 2 challenges in one card! Madison went out with Grampie and I went to work in my craft room!

Challenge #1 - Color ThrowDown #54 - using Basic Gray, Blush Blossom, Pumpkin Pie, Really Rust - definitely not a color combo I would have used before so it really was a Challenge for me!
Challenge #2 - Mercy's Sketch Challenge MTSC#33
I spent a lot of time on this card... primarily b/c I was trying to get the color combo to work for me... I quite like the end result!
Here are views of the outside and the inside:
I used the Scallop Oval Nesties - for the Vanilla piece I left the Nestie in place and sponged Really Rust ink in the center and then stamped the sentiment in Basic Grey ink; Basic Grey DP; Blush Blossom ribbon (not S. Up!)

On the inside I placed a piece of Blush Blossom edged with the punch; more DP and RR CS; a RR scallop and a quote from some DP I have from Our Daily Bread Designs
Hope you have had some creative moments today!
Blessings!

Happiness

Hi everyone!
Wasn't yesterday a glorious day? We spent it at a friend's "cottage"; the kids had a great time swimming and all! And just being outside was awesome!
I did get a chance to make a card yesterday after I cleaned up my craft room! WOW!

I used Crused Curry, Dusty Durango, and Soft Suede CS; the Herb Expressions stamp set; Flower Soft on the flowers; and a Maya Road Velvety Stitched Blossom... also used the Pretty Petals background stamp on the Crused Curry card front.

Hope you've been able to find time to be creative! *** HUGS ***
