Congrats! AND - Friday Mashup 65

Hi Stampers!
This has turned into an awesome day! So nice to have sunshine!
In the midst of everything else today I had a few minutes to pull together this card for a friend who is graduating! Big Grad party for him happening tomorrow night! woooo hoooo!!!
I had so much fun putting this tree together!!! Love the owl punch!!! I "free-handed" the tree trunk; used a circle punch for the tree greenery and bird builder punch for all the leaves!
Here is the inside - pretty simple!!! :)
Got to get out there and enjoy some of this sun before suppertime rolls around!
See you soon!

Tangerine Betsy and More...

Good Morning!
What's the weather like where you are? Here we have had pouring down rain and thunder & lightning! LOVE the thunder!!!! Can't tell you why but I do! As children we would have to get up and head downstairs if we had thunder and lightning during the night. Guess Mom wanted to be prepared to leave the house if necessary. Now I may sleep thru such a storm...

I have 2 cards today ... both using the set Betsy's Blossoms. The small flowers on this first one were made by stamping the flower from the set and cutting out the middle portion of it; the leaves were made by using the bird-builder punch. For some reason I have taken a liking to this color combo! What about you?
Card number 2 uses just the mid-sized flower and leaf from the set... I did a lot of cutting for this one! :)
Well! It is still pouring like mad out there and I have to make my way to town in an hour or so! Of course, my umbrella is in the car! Go figure! LOL!
Thanks for stopping by - I hope you enjoyed your visit and that you will return soon!
Have a good one - stay dry and safe!

TREASURES !

Good Saturday Afternoon!
I'm feeling some better today - actually went in the Craft Room and made a card .... and we are heading to friends for supper in a couple hours! All-in- all a good day!

I made this card using the peacock from the World Treasures set - Peacocks have a special place in my heart! My younger brother died from melanoma 16 years ago this fall. Prior to becoming ill he had a "bird farm" called the "Coo and Cackle" in Tantallon, Nova Scotia. He raised doves, homing pigeons, little birds, turkeys, and so much more. He also had some peacocks. These peacocks would strut their stuff, perch on a roof, and let their presence be known! Such beautiful birds! So - whenever I see a peacock I am reminded of Reigh! I will always miss him - as kids he drove me crazy but I'd give anything to hear him laugh and tease me again!

I used Midnight Muse and Daffodil Delight ... a piece of a Delicate Doilie Sizzlit; and lots of pearls!
I popped the sentiment - it's not easy to see that from this picture. And - I "free-handed" the daffy CS around the sentiment.
Thanks for peeking today! Have a great day!
Remember the weather forecast for today is - "God reigns and the Son shines"!

Serenity!

Hi Everyone!
I have been lying low these past couple days ... not feeling 100%. I know though, that this too shall pass! :)
I had 2 Workshops plus a 3rd event within the past 2 weeks - so I made some cards with this awesome new set - Serene Silhouettes. When I first looked at the new Catalogue this set popped out at me and I must say that I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it! :)
I used the Fancy Fan embossing folder on these first 2 cards - and after I took this first picture I added some pearls to the flowers! Both cards were done by using marker-to-stamp technique ... all new In Colors...
These last two cards are "manly" cards! Using Comfort Cafe DSP - I stamped the tree image with Early Espresso 3 times on each card - no re-inking! Really like the shadow effect!
This one really is E. Espresso ... much nicer in real life!
Thanks for stopping by ... I hope to be feeling better so I can get into my Craft Room this weekend and have some new & different cards/techniques to show you next week! So - Stay tuned!
Have a great weekend and - Keep Smilin'!

Faux Patina

Hey there Stampers!
It's Friday ... as a working girl I used to love Fridays! :) Now every day can be Friday for me if that is what I choose it to be!!!
I'm all ready for a WorkShop tonight ... everything packed and ready to roll!
The other day, though, I saw a new to me technique on a blog and decided to go to SplitCoast Stampers and get the lowdown on it! And then I gave it a try! ....soooo much fun - I think it will be one we try as soon as our Klub gets together again!
Here is the card I made - I used a retired set and ribbon .... For ink I used a light brown, old olive, cajun craze, and a dark brown; then gold embossing powder...

Here are 2 samples:
                                                    a "rosy" sample -

                                                                  a "bluish" sample
Thanks for peeking in today!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Whooo Whooo Who Who!

Happy Day Stampers!
Many years ago ... like 30 plus! ... I collected Owls! And of course, when one "collects" something that is what one gets for every occasion such as Birthdays, Christmas etc.! :) At this present moment I believe I only have 2 remaining owls from that collection! However - I think they are one of the most beautiful birds! Farmer Hubby is not too impressed with them because they will go after his baby chicks etc.!
'Nuff rambling - I finally purchased the owl punch a while ago .... have had some pieces sitting and waiting to be put together ... did that this morning! Here are 2 cards I made - almost like playing "paper dolls" again! Anyone remember doing that?
Don't like the color on this one - but couldn't figure out how to correct it! :(  BUT - I really like the card IRL! (in real life)
And here is a Birthday Card for a friend ....
Thanks for stopping by!
I probably won't be back here until Friday as I have a WorkShop and Open House to prepare for ... Oh yes! and lunch with friends tomorrow; Bible Study Thursday morning ... Acupuncture treatment in the afternoon!! Phew! Just thinking about it tires me out!
See you soon!
Blessings and HUGS!
