colorQchallenge #66

Hey everyone!
It's a cold one here today! Gotta keep the SON shinin' within!

Here is my submission for the ColorQ challenge #66: I love these colors!!!!
I always liked "Soft Sky" and was disappointed when Stampin' Up! took it away :(    Maybe they'll rethink that decision sometime soon!
I have a number of thank you cards to make - here is one for a special friend!
I used Greenhouse Gala DSP; Daffodil Delight satin ribbon (gotta love that satin ribbon!); and some pearls!
The senitment and the butterfly inside are retired ... but not by me! :)

Now to write my note and deliver this, and do some errands, and .... well! you know how the story goes!
See you soon!
Keep looking up!

Color Throwdown #82

Here is a card I made the other day as a sympathy card for a friend whose brother has gone to be with the Lord! I had an idea regarding what I wanted to do with the border... I took the "damsak" stamp and made a border on Whisper White - didn't even use the Stamp a ma Jig ... pretty even, aye? I used the set "24-7"; one of my favs of all times! colors used - Night of Navy, Ruby Red and Olive Green. the next day I was checking Color Throwdown    http://colorthrowdown.blogspot.com/  for their color challenge and found this:

I know my card doesn't use the exact navy and I used White instead of Vanilla - but I just had to share it!

Hope you enjoyed! It's always fun to check the color challenges and sketch challenges that are out there... helps to keep the MOJO flowing. Next time I'll check first, before I make the card!  :)
Thanks for peeking!
Hugs!

Thank You! and more!

Good morning!
Towards the end of this post you'll find a card I submited to a color challenge this morning over at "Get Sketchy" - http://getsketchy.blogspot.com/

The other day I made some very simple blank Thank You cards by using 3 punches, one sentiment and white CS. I punched the "squares " from DP using 3 different Stampin' Up! punches and placed them - using dimensionals - on the CS ... stamped the sentiment - ready to write a note in - how cool is that? Here is another simple one!

Sometimes I love to sit and do a card that is full of layers and embellies - I so enjoy seeing the complexity of the card at the end - and having such a sense of satisfaction with it.
Like this one here - using one of my fav colors!

No matter the mood I'm in at the time I can "get lost" in the card making!
Well! I have found a new way to get "lost" - sometimes that's not so hard for me to do the way my mind is lately! LOL! :)
It is in the zentangle!!!!

Here is one from yesterday called "Relaxation"...
Have a blessed Christmas! May you experience Peace and Rest over these coming days!

Color Inspiration #39

Hi All!
Two posts in one day! I decided today to do a color challenge...Kristina Werner at KWerner Designs posts a Color Inspiration Challenge weekly. Some of the cards submitted for her challenges are awesome! She will pick 15 personal favorites from all the submissions (last week there was over 200+ for her to look at!) So - here is my card for this challenge... using So Saffron, Green Galore, Real Red, Whisper White, Basic Black. You will note that I have used some Glittery black and silver CS that I purchased at Michael's a few months ago. The stamp set is a retired hostess set from Stampin' Up! called Serene Spring - earlier today I mentioned how I long for Spring to arrive! Guess that's my theme for today! I colored with blender pen, markers and ink; used black gingham ribbon , bold brads; also, the scallop edge punch.
I popped the bird scene, matted in black, on the red; and then popped the red on the card background... I also popped the butterfly. This is a retired set as I said - however, I'm thinking it's a "keeper".
The biggest challenge now will be to get the card uploaded to her site so she can see it. Wish me luck!

Enjoy!
