Good Saturday Afternoon!
Boy! It has been a rainy night and morning here! Seems to have stopped at the moment! But it won't clear enough for an outdoor wedding! So sorry about that Yvonne and Russell....
Madison's mom and dad arrived yesterday - and they all slept in this morning ... I have been awake since 5a.m.; reading at 6; up at 7.... Had to do something constructive so ... along came The Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge -
Here is my card for this challenge ... I used the set "Snow Much Fun" and DSP "Cheerful Treat".
Hubby is at the Farmer's Market this morning ... he is bringing fresh veggies with him when he comes home. I have a fresh free-range chicken ready for the oven and we will have "Hodge-Podge" along with it! Ummmm, Ummmm, Good!
Have a wonderful day!
Hope the sun is shinin' in your heart!
HUGS!

MOJO and cQc ...
Hey!
Quick post for today - 2 challenges! (I think maybe I should have just stuck to one b/c I'm not real crazy about how this turned out).
However, "IT IS WHAT IT IS!" - seems to me these words have come out of my mouth a lot lately! I must take some time to reflect on their meaning! LOL!
Here is my card....
Our almost-9 granddaughter is here with us for a few days.... she has been keeping me busy! Maybe tonight I will try this sketch again .... with some fancy DSP!
Hope you're having a great day! We are off to visit one of her little friends and take a dip in a pool!
HUGS!

PPA 102 - Masculine Birthday Card
Good afternoon!
This morning I had "inspiration" hit me - and I created this card before I left for the Farmer's Market... here is the photo that PPA has given us this week and the goal is to use this to inspire us to create a summer card. Doesn't this look like an inviting place to sit and relax and read?
I am in need of a masculine birthday card and wanted to use one of my photos - this card is for my brother who lives not far from me behind a stand of trees.... if he lived where I do this is an example of the sunsets he would see. There is nothing like the majesty of a summer sunset to make me reflect on all the blessings that I have each day! I used the new In Colors and the Hostess stamp set - "Happiest Birthday Wishes".
Here is the inside - another stamp from the set and more doodling...
Another awesome day!
We are sooooooo blessed!

Every Moment & cQc #93
Good Afternoon!
What an awesome day this has been! So thankful for the glorious sunshine!
I decided to give this current ColorQ Challenge a try -
I used the flower from the stamp set "Every Moment" - I used the masking technique to get the 3 flowers to look this way... The only Real Red on the card is one of the flowers! Matted with Pear Pizzazz. I am liking the other 2 colors together - will use this combo again for sure! Everything is colored with markers/ink and blender pen...
Here is a close-up of the flowers - I popped the butterfly and "doodled" an edge!
Thanks for stopping by - hope you're having a great day!
Hugs and Blessings!

UDI #31
HI everyone!
The sun is trying to come out! WoooHooo! I have to run to town this afternoon - well! not "run" literally - you know what I mean! I've had my sandals on since last week - what about you? I'm lovin' that!
Here is a color challenge I ran across today ....
I didn't use any black; and I don't have any Bashful Blue so used a little Baja Breeze instead... added a little bling with the Stampin' Up! rhinestones. I took a 10" by 5&1/2" piece of CS and scored it at 4&1/2 inches to create the fold; giving me a 5&1/2" by 5&1/2" card ...
I used the one of the frames from the Four Frames stamp set and matted it ... used only 3 words from the sentiment in the Strength and Hope stamp set...
For the inside I stamped off the butterfly ... making this 3rd generation stamping...
Thanks for stopping by today!
Have a wonderful Tuesday!
Blessings and HUGS!

Two Challenges In One Card!
Hi everyone!
I love to do this ... incorporate 2 challenges in one card. It makes me go outside the box for sure! so today ... Monday - Mojo Monday always has a new challenge for us. Today it was to use this sketch -
AND - on the weekend CR84FN challenged us to use this color combo on a card....
Now, I must say that when I saw these colors listed together I didn't think I could pull it off... the picture is gorgeous but could I find these colors in my stash of S. Up! paper to meet the challenge? Here is my creation for both of these challenges!
Inside the card....
So - what do you think? Did I make it work? I think so! I really like the finished card... and sometimes that doesn't happen so easily for me! I used Silver and Basic Gray for the "gray" ... not a color I use a lot of! Also used Basic Gray to stamp the frame and inside the card. The ribbon is Basic Gray; the "curly" stamp comes from a SAB set - Sweet Summer... I'm loving this particular stamp! And the DSP is from Paisley Petals ... I talked about the promotion for this DP and Frames in my post yesterday... you might want to check this out! :)
Hope you enjoyed your peek here today. Thanks for stopping by!
Tuesday is our Kreations Klub night ... can't show you the projects yet!!!! I will take some pics and post them later in the week!
Have a great week!
Hugs!

SSC Challenge #75
Good morning stampers!
What a beautiful day today! This must be the "calm before the storm" cuz I hear another storm is on its way! "Oh Spring - Hurry to us please!!!!"
Last night was Superbowl night here.... some friends came in and while the guys watched the game and ate up a storm - the girls made cards .... gotta love that! Here is one I made for a very special little one in my life. I love this image of the two girls hugging each other...
The Stampin' Sisters in Christ have a challenge to make a card that "shows" love without any words... this card doesn't quite fit the challenge but I'm submitting it anyway cuz I love these girls and how they are showing their love for each other!!!
1 John 3:18 - Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.
Thanks for stopping by - have a great day! And may your love be just as the Scripture says ... with actions and in truth.
Blessings -

Challenge #74 ... Psalm 23
Hi all!
Yesterday Stampin' Sisters in Christ http://stampinsistersinchrist.blogspot.com/ put out a challenge to use lots of blue and green in our creation. They used Psalm 23 as their inspiration - this Psalm speaks of the Lord being my Shepherd, giving me green pastrues to lie in and peaceful waters to walk beside. I love this Psalm. I know it seems to be one that we hear at funerals and not much at any other time - BUT - many years ago I wrote these words in my Bible beside this Psalm - "happiness; contentment; positive; hopeful; faith approach to life" - and so it is! I hope you will check out their blog and take a moment to reflect on this Psalm.
Here is the card I made this morning. I know. No Stampin' Up! I have been looking for ocean and beach based stamps... primarily because the beach is a place of peace for me; of reflection; and of rest.... not when it's full of people but when it's me and God - and maybe hubby, family, or a friend or two! :) I found this stamp set on Saturday on an excursion with a couple friends -and when I saw this challenge I just knew I had to use it. I took 3 of the stamps and put them together as a scene. Hope you enjoy your peek!
I just have to show a couple beach pictures I took last summer - How blessed I am! Can't wait to get back there this year!
Have a wonderful day!

"thinking of you"
Good morning...
and what a beautiful one it is! Sun shining brightly ... love to see the sun!
Here is the sketch from http://utahdivasinternational/ -
...and here is the card I made from this sketch... I needed to make a card for the husband of a friend ... he fell last week on the ice and has some broken bones as a result! This will be a time of testing for them both - for sure! :)
I used Soft Suede CS and the glitter brads from the Occasions Mini - Stampin' Up!
Hope you have a wonderful day ... keep your eyes on the sun ... and on the SON!
Blessings and hugs!

PPA77 - Sketch Challenge
Good morning!
Whoa! It is chilly today! And sooooooo windy! A good day to stay inside and craft! :)
I made a card last evening for the Pals Paper Arts weekly challenge. This week the challenge was to follow this sketch. When I first looked at it I thought, "Nahhh, too many layers for me." But - I decided to put my mind to it and I did come up with a card - and - it was quite fun doing all the layers!

"NEW" - Stampin' Sisters in Christ #72
Guess I was wrong... I said I wouldn't be back til the end of next week but when I saw this challenge at http://stampinsistersinchrist.blogspot.com/ I just knew I had to participate.
2 Corinthinas 5:17 - Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold all things have become new.
Yesterday 5 gals got together to do some dry embossing... two of them were very new at this. I am showing you a card I put together during that time ... what fun we had! I have always loved the beauty of the butterfly!
There is a quote that goes something like this that I like as well! "What the catepillar sees as the end, the butterfly sees as a new beginning". I cannot look at a butterfly without thinking of newness and new beginnings - especailly after having journeyed with a dear Sister in Christ thru her cancer journey this past year! She has been a true inspiration to all around her as she has "Let Go and Let God". She - who loves butterflies - is truly a butterfly today! Praising God for that!
So Janet - this post is in honor of you!
Thanks for stopping by today... see you next week!

UDI Color Challenge #18
Well! Here I am back with a second post today.
The weather sure has changed and I guess that storm is here! Who knew?
Anyway - In my daily "stampin' blog" visits I found this color challenge: Always Artichoke, Perfect Plum, Concord Crush, Very Vanilla - isn't this bouquet of flowers gorgeous? Almost makes me forget that it is snowing outside!
I decided to make a card for this challenge and here it is!
The picture doesn't do it justice, for sure! I didn't have any AA ribbon so I dyed a piece of white organza with sponge and ink .. gotta love that. Did some sponging, embossing, layering, embellishing - and there you have it? You can't see by the picture but I layered each mat...
Fairly often I will complete a card and it just isn't what I had pictured in my mind ... that is what has happened with this one. I think it needs White and Old Olive instead of the colors I used .... so sometime today I will make another one - the same but different!!! Ever done that? Oh, I bet you have!
For now...
Stay warm, stay safe!
((((hugs))))

colorQchallenge #66
Hey everyone!
It's a cold one here today! Gotta keep the SON shinin' within!
Here is my submission for the ColorQ challenge #66: I love these colors!!!!
I always liked "Soft Sky" and was disappointed when Stampin' Up! took it away :( Maybe they'll rethink that decision sometime soon!
I have a number of thank you cards to make - here is one for a special friend!
I used Greenhouse Gala DSP; Daffodil Delight satin ribbon (gotta love that satin ribbon!); and some pearls!
The senitment and the butterfly inside are retired ... but not by me! :)
Now to write my note and deliver this, and do some errands, and .... well! you know how the story goes!
See you soon!
Keep looking up!

Triple Challenges!
Triple challenges! WOW!
http://crazy4challenges.blogspot.com/ [CAC68] and http://stampinbsdesignteam.blogspot.com/ [#91]
wanted us to make a "celebration" card! That was so easy for me! This card celebrates my Lord and Who He is and all He means to me!
The 3rd challenge was a card sketch! Here is the sketch from http://justusgirlschallenge.blogspot.com/ [#65]
This is the card I made to meet all 3 challenges! I used the Springtime Vintage DSP with Pear Pizzazz CS; and added a touch of Daffodil Delight with the ribbon!. You can't really see it in this picture but the flowers have a soft hint of "yellow" in them! This card is so much prettier in "real life"! :)
This is the inside of the card ....

Revised and Embellished!
After I made and posted the cards for the OLW34 challenge yesterday I felt like they were not complete... So I took a few minutes in the evening to revise and embellish them!
Here is the Lovely As a Tree card with glass glitter added to it; I also sponged and punched it! LOL!
Friends 24-7 has had a corner punch used on it and I added pearls to the stamped image.

One-Layer Wednesday 34
Good Morning!
I found a challenge this morning... at http://stylesink.ca/. The challenge - to make a one layer card using only one image stamp and a maximum of 2 ink colors. A "one layer card" is a single piece of CS folded in half....whoa! this is so not me most of the time - I like to layer to some degree! And even when I do use a one layer concept I still embellish and layer other "stuff" on it! Anyway .... here is my take on this challenge. I made 2 cards - one using Cherry Cobbler and the other using Not Quite Navy ink.
I'm now off to get some work done around here today! Starting with my mangers and then the tree... THEN - this craft room looks like the winds from the blizzard that passed us by settled in it! :) so --- it is due for a major overhaul!
Stay warm and safe -
