Flowers - and more...

HEY!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Well I had some fun in my craft room over the past few days. As I was surfing some card sites I learned how to make some paper flowers. This first one was made using 8 punched out pieces of DSP. I used the "Fancy Flower" punch. Take each piece and scrunch it together - this breaks down the fibers and makes it more pliable. Then "un-scrunch" and layer on top of each other - alternating the design; poke a hole in the center and use a brad to hold all 8 pieces together. Then - starting with the top layer and working layer by layer- scrunch each layer together again. The end result is a "fat flower" such as you see here. You would have difficulty putting a card with this flower on it into an envelope but you could add it to a gift or on top of a box or......  :0

This next flower was made by using black ink and stamping a blossom from the Mixed Bunch set (Occasions Mini) - onto Marina Mist CS. I then punched out these flowers using the Blossom punch from the Mini - then wet them til quite damp and scrunched each one together; laid them out to dry leaving them somewhat scrunched together. Once almost dry I poked a hole in the center and held them together with a brad - and adjusted the petals to my liking. Once the flower was dry I spritzed it with Vanilla Shimmer Smooch. See the "glittery look"? I then placed a pearl in the center with a glue dot.

This third flower is just like the second one except it is stamped with Marina Mist ink on the Marina Mist CS; then spritzed and a pearl added to the center.

Here is the card I made using the third flower - a simple thank you card.
I appreciate each and every one of you and thank you for stopping by today ...
I hope you enjoyed your peek and that you'll try your hand at flower making!
May your 2012 be filled with peace and joy and love!
Blessings and HUGS!

SHABBY FLOWER

Happy Saturday!
I am almost ready for my Workshop on Monday evening... and I had a chance to stamp a little for my own pleasure. We are off to the Farmer's Market this morning - I am taking some of my cards to sell!
Here is another card I made with the "hand made" flower... they are fun to do ... I think I will show these to the gals at the workshop.

Have a great day!
Thanks for stopping by!

Handmade Flowers

A few days ago I made some "funky" flowers and made a couple cards with them... but then everything went crazy so I'm just now getting them on my computer!

I tore circles of different sizes from cardstock; rolled their edges in; placed them together and held them together with brads; hand cut some leaves and stamped them; then roughed up the edges with my fingernail... and Voila! Here they are.

The flowers were fun to do!

The colors I used were from the color challenge at http://kwernerdesign.com/.... I missed the deadline to post them on her blog so ... Oh Well!

My New inks and papers arrived - but I haven't had a chance to get at them>>> Hopefully today! But Hey! The catty is great!
Have a great day!

Double Duty!

Hi everyone!
I am posting this Saturday evening for you to view on Sunday. I just had the creative bug bite me and decided to do 2 challenges at once. I did the "Weekend Sketch Challenge 78 "and Lauren Meader's "My Time To Color 01".... I used Real Red, Basic Gray, Bashful Blue, So Saffron; a scrap of DP; a crochet flower (Thanks, Myra!); a flower brad (so saffron) from S. Up!; and the stamp set "Friends 24-7"
Enjoy!
Peace and Joy today!

MoJo Monday 80 & Our Creative Corner Challenge

Hi All!
This is my 2nd post today (30th).... meaning I won't be posting on Tuesday! I finally finished 2 of the projects I planned on doing today - other "stuff" got in the way and .... well! you know how it goes! :)
I combined the Mojo Monday sketch challenge with the OCC challenge ...which is a color challenge this week - using More Mustard, Not Quite Navy, and Bashful Blue! This seemed like an odd combo to me but I really like the finished card! So there you go! You never know how it will turn out until you're at the end of the project! Love that!
I apologize for the poor quality pic! If anyone out there has some suggestions for me on taking better pics I'd love your feedback! Thanks
Enjoy!

Ribbon Rose

Hi Everyone!
I imagine this is TGIF for some of you! I know that when I worked outside the home I was always so glad to see Friday roll around! :)
I have so much to show you - I have had to restrain myself from putting it all on one post! LOL!!!

I found this great tutorial for the Ribbon Rose - and it is so easy!!!! - check out this site:

Here is my first attempt at using this Rose as an embellishment - I'm sure I'll be using it again and again!
Have a great day!
Remember - "This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it."
Blessings on yah!
