This is not a Christmas Card!

Hey!
I wanted to just "play" today ... and not think about the Christmas Cards I still need to make ... to do something a little different... so here it is! I have this DSP paper from the Holiday Mini - which will be closing as of January 4, 2010... it's called Night and Day Speciality ... [all black and white and a couple sheets of vellum]. I had the urge to make a black and white card that was NOT a sympathy card.... I added the Bermuda Blue as an accent color and think it turned out quite nice!
The other day a friend and I cut out some chip board pieces using the Nesties - to allow us to have an "unembossed" space with embossing around it when we run the CS thru the CuttleBug or Big Shot. I like how that turned out too!
Am I sounding pretty prideful today? Don't mean to! But I'm feeling the MOJO again! Finally!!! :0

Here is the inside where I will add a note of appreciation to some special person or people!
Hope you enjoyed this peek into my little world today!
Have a wonderful week!

Color Throwdown!

Good Saturday Morning!
WOW! I feel the humidity today!
Here is another Color Throwdown Challenge!
Here is my card for this challenge: I don't have any Lavendar Lace - it is on order - so I used Lovely Lilac; I used both Garden Green and Old Olive; the water lily is from ODBD Mother Teresa - I colored it with markers and blender pen (my favorite way to color); and used a piece of ribbon from a Birthday Gift - it matches perfectly with these colors!
I totally cased this design from Barbara Anders at http://barspaperpursuits.blogspot.com/ - she does beautiful work! Also used the Nesties and a CB folder.

Have a wonderful weekend

Let Us Begin...

Hi all!
Wasn't yesterday the most spectacular day yet? WOW!
I rec'd some new stamps from Our Daily Bread Designs yesterday.... didn't ink them up till the evening as it was too nice to be inside!
Here is my first card with these sets... I used Cameo Coral and Old Olive CS. The sentiment is from the set "Let Us Begin" and the flower stamp is from the set called "Grow in Grace"... the sentiments in both sets are really nice! Can't wait to use them all!

I popped one flower; used the Nesties called Deckled Rectangles; & Dew Drops. Have a great day and keep the creative juices flowing!

Nesties X 2

Good Morning everyone!
Hope you had a restful weekend and are now ready to face the world again! I know - there are some of you out there who work shift work and have to work weekends ... so they aren't always restful... I do hope though, that when you have time off you nurture yourself... that you take time to rest and realx!

I made this card using Bashful Blue CS as the main piece; Urban Garden DP; Night of Navy as the mat CS.
I cut out the main image and mat using the Deckled Rectangles; the DP and other pieces were cut using the Labels Three Nestie; used Night of Navy ink; and ..... again!!! - "Friends 24-7".

This is Take #2 - changed the layout to 'landscape', different image from same set!

Have a great day!
Blessings on yah!

Friends... again!

Hi All!
Can't you tell I love this set? I find it so versatile... I am showing this card twice... the first card is the initial card - I thought it needed something more so I added the dew drops... what do you think? Did it need more? Was it OK? Are the dew drops an improvement?
I used the Dahlia Nestie; Walk in the Park DP; Friends 24/7; Kiwi SatinRibbon;...Clean and simple!

Enjoy!
Have a wonderful day!

The Morning After...

Good Morning!
Eight gals got together last night to stamp and chat! A fun time was had by all! For me - it took a bit for the mojo to kick in but once it did.... I made 5 different cards - mind you, I had the CS cut for the base card already... and I used "stuff" from my "scrap kit". Do you have one of those? Things you have already colored; or cuttlebugged; or punched; or nestied (if that's a word); or...... I keep telling myself that I'm not going to cut any new paper until I use all this up ... but hey! it never happens!

Here are a couple of the cards I made last night!
Enjoy! Have a great weekednd!

Pacific Point Card

Hi All!
Well! I finally completed the card to go with the ..... ..... did you guess? It is a teacup that was my mom's. She has been gone for almost 20 years now. I kept some of her most beautiful teacups as I loved the colors! That's me!!! Lovin' colors!!!
I can remember when I was a kid she would have special guests come in for tea and would bring out the special cups and saucers - this was one of them. Isn't it gorgeous?

Here is the card I made using this cup and saucer as my inspiration! I stamped the flowers with Chocolate Chip and colored them in with markers and blender pen... clear embossed each image as I went along as I wanted some depth to the flowers ... it worked pretty well! I scored the Gold CS with my scor Pal and used the Nesties "Labels 2"... I really like how this turned out. Hope you do too!
Have a great evening - see you tomorrow! Ruthie

CAS (Clean And Simple)

Good Morning!
Hey! Wasn't yesterday a beautiful one? As you know, I love the warm sunny days!

Early in the evening I had a brain-wave to use my Nesties and this card is the result of it! I saw a sketch similar to this on a site I was checking - for the life of me can't remember where I was... I think that card actually had some ribbon and a sentiment on it. I just wanted to do something with my Nesties - and - so I did! I Embossed the Kiwi Kiss with the Cuttle Bug and then cut with Nesties Labels 2; decided these 4 pieces needed a border so cut out some white borders using a larger Labels 2. Nestie; lightly sponged the Kiwi with White ink and the White with Kiwi Ink! Something I do on almost everything I make --- sponge! The large Scallop is from the die cut Scallop Circle #2 - I also sponged this with Kiwi and stamped the Bird from "Friends 24-7" on it.
Hope you like it!
Thanks for checkin' in!

Have a crafty day!
Blessings,
Ruthie

Pocket Silhouettes

Good Morning!
Just a quick post to show you a couple cards I made using the "Pocket Silhouettes" stamp set from Stampin' Up! The set is reasonable in price and is very versatile - it has 4 flower satmps and 2 sentiment stamps.

I hope you can see that I stamped on the background card stock with versamark and then clear embossed the image...I like the effect this gives to the card.
About a month ago the gal at "scrapenextras" did a set of 4 different cards using this set - she does beautiful work! You might want to check out her blog sometime!
Have a wonderful restful Sunday -please keep me in your prayers as I travel today!
Thanks a bunch!
Blessings on yah!

A "Simple Hi"

Hi All!
I see sunshine! WhooooHoooo! I noticed yesterday that my Lillies are starting to peek thru the old stuff... I didn't do very good at cleaning up my gardens last fall - I'll get out there soon and do that job! I so love to see all the newness that Spring brings with it!

I made a card yesterday for someone I haven't seen in a while... and it turned out so good I wanted to share it with you! I used Bashful Blue CS; Pacific Point Ink and DSP from "Tea Party"; a stick pin made from some old beads I had kickin' around (actually have a boxful!); I took one of the "Labels Two" Nesties, cut & embossed it, then took a smaller one and cut it out to make a frame! So Cool!

Enjoy this beautiful Day!
This IS the day! Rejoice and be glad in it!
Blessings!
