You're A Gem!

Good Afternoon!!!
And a bright sunny day it is! Still cool though!
Yesterday was supposed to be a "ME" day - but I guess I would have to say that only a few hours of it were "ME-Time" - and in that time I decided to get into the craft room - I had a Workshop the night before so had left my desk in a mess - see pic below -

In the midst of that mess was a new stamp set - You're A Gem - that had never seen ink - so I decided to use some of the "stuff" and the new set and make a card... Here is the result of that. I also used the Summer Solstice Set - the leaves are wings from the Build a Bird punch.

this is the inside of the card -
Thanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend - I'll see you next week (April!) with a couple cards!

Cotton-Ball-Reinker Technique...

Good morning! How did it get to be Wednesday already?
I have been busy I guess and the days are just flying by!

Here is a card we made at our last Klub get-together.... Probably you have done something similar to this using babywipes. This card did not turn out the way I had anticipated but ----

I had seen a clean and simple card on a blog and tried to replicate it .... it was so pretty - wish I could remember where it was. Her basic card was mostly white with 3 horizontal stripes of color - using reinkers and cottonballs. Well! I tried and was unsuccessful - here is MY card.... LOL! I used the SAB set - Fresh Vintage - gotta love this stamp set - I hope it is going to be in our future!!!! And the sentiment comes from Timeless Treasures.

Thanks for putting up with my rambling - and with my inconsistent posts. I have a WorkShop tomorrow night that I'm preparing for - and then I will have time to sit and play with some of the new stuff I received yesterday!

Blessings and HUGS to you - my stampin' friends!

More Antiques!

Good Afternoon Stampers!
The sun was shining brightly this morning - it seems to have gone behind a cloud right now - but the temp is 16 degrees C .... amazing! Time for sandals and bare feet! YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!! Gotta love that!

So - just a quick post for you this afternoon!
I made this card the other day - using Timeless Treasures again with the Attic Boutique DSP. I'm not much of a sewer but as a kid i learned to sew on an old treadle machine my mom had! Now does that date me or what? :)
A few months ago I learned how to make bows on my fingers. The other day I watched a tutorial on how to make a double bow using a bow-making tool! Well! I figured I'd give it a try on my fingers! and Voila! It worked! Here is a sample on this card.

The Inside -

I hope you are enjoying this spring-like day ... and of course, tomorrow is the official first day of spring! But we'll take the "one-day-early" for sure! Thanks for taking a few moments out of your day to stop by here! It means a lot to me!

Blessings and HUGS!

Timeless Treasures

Good Afternoon....
The house is sooooooo quiet - the girls have gone skating with friends and won't be home til supper time.... so I thought I would take this time to post a card - it will be my last post until after the weekend! :)

I have looked - many times - at the stamp set "Timeless Treasures" .... and have thought to myself, "How will I use this if I have it?" Usually my answer to self is .... "Can't see it right now but you'll find a way." So I FINALLY broke down and purchased this set -
Here are 2  cards I made last week -
I really wish I had used lace on this first one .... but had none on hand so this is what you get! :) Don't you love that old shoe? :)

Here is the inside with dsp and the old teacup - I have just a few of my moms old teacups - you can see some of them if you go to http://peaceinthepieces.blogspot.com/ and look for May 17, 2009

Here is card number 2.... I have an old chair that looks similar to this (minus the arms) that was part of a dining room set belonging to a great aunt of mine. I take great pleasure in these "old things"! .....

However, I have come to learn over the years that the truly important things to me in this life are my family and friends..... and there really are no better antiques than old friends!
On that note  - to all you oldies who have been with me since the beginning of this blog - I thank you and I treasure you!

Blessings on each one!

Hello Doily Friends

Hi Everyone!
Just a quick post this morning... it is March break here in Nova Scotia and our grand-daughter is visiting with us for a few days.
Here is a card I made as a "make-and-take" for a workshop a week ago....
I love this Hello Doily Stamp! Also used the Vintage Vogue set; and the DSP is from the 2011-2013 'In Color' Paper Stack. The DSP circle and the "friends" label are both popped for dimension - but it doesn't show well in the photo.

Here is a view of the inside of the card....
I hope you're having a great week ... Keep Smiling! Be Creative! Sing a tune in your heart!
Blessings and HUGS!

Catalogue page 182! OR - "Mocha Bird"

Good Morning!
And a bright sunny one it is here!
I was looking thru the Idea Book and Catalogue the other day and a card jumped off the page at me! :) Ever have that happen? I'm sure I've looked at this particular card before but that day it "came alive".... and I thought I would replicate it! Well - here is my take on the card at the bottom of page 182 - hope you like it!

                                                                      Inside ...
Pretty simple to make - just a lot of sponging and distressing -
I think we'll make this one at our Card Klub next weekend!

Gotta run! Have a great day and may the sun be shining in your heart!
Don't forget - CLOCKS GO AHEAD TONIGHT!
