AWOL!

Hey all!
Sorry I've been AWOL!
Any paper crafting I did last week was related to more Christmas cards.... and I don't want to show them all on here.... cuz then there will be no surprises for those of you who will be receiving one!
I am making a few yearly calendars - as I did last year - I've had a few requests for a 2010 ----
here are a couple pics ...

Have to do some grocery shopping, and some preparation, for 2 different get togethers in the next 2 days ... so today will be a busy one!

I hope you don't let this season stress you - but that it will be a time of reflection and rest... and may you remember that "Jesus is the Reason for the Season!"
Blessings!

PPA17 and Guests...

Hi everyone!
Aren't you lovin' this weather? I sure am! The sun is shining bright and it currently is 9 degrees C. here. I hope we don't have to "pay" for it eventually by being snowed in!!! Oh well! Maybe that wouldn't be so bad either.
Here is my submission for Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge ... this sketch was a fun one to do. I used some retired DSP - I now have another Christmas card for my stash ... I'll eventually get them all done!

Here is the inside of the card....

We had Club the other night ... a couple of the girls brought some items they'd been working on .... here they are for you to see.
Debra is our "box" expert .... I think she has made every box going! :) Here she did the decorated tealights and a box to give them as a gift! Here is the Top Note Box that she made...
Debbie has been working on her Christmas cards - using family pics. - and you can see she loves her Cuttle Bug!Another of Debbie's cards!
I rec'd the ornament punch the other day from Stampin' Up! and decided to "play" with it... had seen a flower made with it .... here is what I came up with - the girls all had a chance to make one of these the other night. I've already shown you all the other things we did that night! Lots of fun!

Have a great weekend - We have family visiting this weekend! Can't wait to see them!
Blessings,
Ruthie

Magic Snowflake - PPA16

Hi Everyone!
This is a quick post before I leave the house for "Young Moms Coffee Break".... What a blessing these young moms are!
Here is a card I made using the technique "Magic Snowflake" - the only difference between it and Polished Stone tech. is that the embossing is done before anything else.

Here is a close up of the bow - a couple weeks ago I had the opportunity to use one of those "bow maker" contraptions - I can't remember the name of it .... at first it was quite confusing but once I got the hang of it ...Whoa! I love making bows! This bow was made using my fingers as the "prongs" for the ribbon to go around! How ingenious is that!!!! ( pats on back go here! :0)
Gotta run - have a great day!

Non-Traditional!

Me Again...
I saw a card somewhere today that made me think of using non-Christams stamps to create a Christmas Card... here is what I did with this!
The 2 image stamps used are from the S. Up! set '24-7' .... one of my favs!!! and the sentiment is from 'A Cardinal Christmas'.

I used Real Red CS as background; V.Vanilla for the bird image and colored him with markers; Kraft CS for the fancy image - which is second generation stamping and then stamped the Merry Christmas with Black over the top of it. Edges of both images were sponged with Soft Suede.

This was very simple card to put together... I think I'll try a few more in different colors! Hope you're having a great day!

It's The Season! Isn't It?????

Hey!
It's sure hard to tell by the weather and the temperature that it is the middle of November and that Christmas is just a little more than a month away! But - That is the truth!!!!

I worked on a few more Christmas cards last Saturday and wanted to show them to you... I went with a "white on white" scheme with just a little color! It is hard to tell in this first card - but the mats are made using S. Up! gold paper.... it's much prettier in real life! I glittered and popped one tree - actually only stamped half of this particular stamp from Lovely As A Tree. It is hard to see but I sponged the sky with bashful blue!

here is the inside.....
Another one using glitter, the single tree from "Lovely as a Tree"... and some S. Up! ribbon.

I made a few more along the same lines as these two ....
Hope you enjoyed your peek today!
Have an awesome day!

Pointsettia

Good morning!
Surprise! It's Saturday and I have a post!
I had such fun creating this little card the other day - I just had to share it with you! For some reason I am currently liking the 4X4 and the 6X6 size more than the rectangular ones. What's with that?
I believe I cut this card stock at 8&1/2 by 4&1/4 - giving me a square when folded in two.

I used a strip of retired DSP and the new ribbon that is found in the Holiday Mini.... 5 petal flower punch, piercing tool and mat completed the project. Simple fun! I'll add a Christmas verse inside when I get ready to send this one!

Ummmmmm! Wonder who the recepient will be! It'll soon be time for getting the list out and getting the Christmas cards ready! It's coming fast!

Demonstrators of Stampin' Up! had a chance to sneak a peek at the Occasions Mini and the Sale-A-Bration book ... you are going to love the stuff! I already have a long wish list! Maybe Santa will give me a gift Certificate to S. Up! for Christmas. What do you think? Is that a possibility?

I do have gift certificates available - give me a call or send me an email - rather - tell your hubby to do that and I'll look after his shopping for him! :)
Have a great day! Think positive thoughts!

Mr. C - again!

Hi all!
It's Friday the 13th ... for me it is a wonderful day ... my granddaughter is 7 years old today! I was just talking with her mom (my daughter) and we were reminising! 7 years ago Hubby and I were on the road to Halifax in a terrible rainstorm ... Ang had called and said Paul was taking her to the hopspital ... we better come! By the time we got there she was well on her way ... however they had discovered that the babe was breech and would have to do a C. section! So little Madison was born 6 weeks early and spent almost 3 weeks in hospital before she could go home with mom and dad! What a blessing she is to us all! Nothing like grandchildren!

Here are more bessings in my life:

A beautiful day like yesterday!

When I look out my window and see the male Cardinal I exclaim, "OH! There's Mr. C!" He is just too gorgeous and such a blessing to me!

Readers of my blogs!

And so much more....
So - here is another Cardinal card! Very simply done!

Thanks for peeking - have a good one!

POLISHED STONE revisited....

Hi everyone!
What a beautiful day! I was just outside for a couple minutes in my shirt sleeves - no jacket - it's awesome! How I wish this would stay with us!!!!!

I have taken the samples I showed you a while back of the Polished Stone technique and made them into a couple Christmas cards....
This one uses tempting Turquoise and White ... I don't remember the other color of reinker I used on the background - I think it was a lighter blue - not sure. :(

For this one I used Rich Razzleberry, Chocolate Chip and another pink reinker ... RR card stock, white embossing powder.... I really like how the CChip floated around like it did to make outline edges ...
Hope you enjoyed your peek today!
Have a wonderful day! I put together a pictoral tour of our farm on http://peaceinthepieces.blogspot.com/ if you're interested!
Blessings on yah!

Wednesday's Card!

Hi Stampers! ;)

Here is my card for today... I'm not sure of the name ... maybe "Stair Step"?????
Anyway - it's fun to do... and could be adapted to much more than a Christmas Card!
I used Old Olive (are you surpirsed?) and Rose Red as the primary colors. The ribbon is striped grograin found on page 183 of the catty ... it is 1 & 1/4 inches wide ... so soft and pliable ... I love it! The snowflakes are made with a retired snowflake punch... and of course, Dasher again! He is just tooooooo pretty!

Here is a side view of the card.
Hope you enjoyed your peek today!

Take time to remember our Vets and all our service people!
Blessings!
