Red & Yellow & Black

Here is the card I just made for 2 challenges:
1) Our Creative Corner Sketch Challenge
2) Christian Paper Crafts Magazine Monday Color Challenge

This is not a color combo that I would normally use ... but I really like the finished product!!
Hope you do too! Another thing that I did that took me out of my box was to ink up stems and leaves in RED instead of green ... I really wanted to use this background stamp Pretty Petals and would normally ink the stems and leaves in Old Olive... but not today ... I wanted to truly stick to the color challenge!

Thanks for peeking in!

Versamark Resist

Good afternoon!
Don't know where the morning went... I spent it doing some writing and "Blog Housework" ...

Here are a couple cards I made last week using the VersaMark Resist Technique. I stamped the image with VersaMark on glossy cardstock; then took a tissue, rubbed it on my ink pad, then over the CS; as you can see the VM resisted the ink. Too Cool!

Have a wonderful day!

A Special Card!

Hi Everyone!

Here is the card I made the other day for a very Special Person ... my girl!!!! Made it, and sent it to her, "just because" - she's a wonderful daughter; and a great wife and mother! I am sooooooo proud of her!!!

I used the Baby Wipe Technique - this is so much fun .... even if the fingers do get a little inky! I say, "Inky fingers are a sign of a happy stamper!" CS & Ink - More Mustard, Rose Red, and Old Olive. The stamp is from "Friends 24-7". Tied a little heart charm to the ribbon with linen thread!

Here is the inside!

Everything is Stampin' Up! except the stamp inside - that is from WhipperSnapper...and the charm is probably from the Dollar Store or WalMart! :)

Hope you're having a great weekend! Remember - "don't sweat the small stuff"! Blessings to you!

Digi Love Birds!

Hi Everyone...
I just finished a card using a digi image "Love Birds" from http://www.pollycraftdesigns.co.uk/
I have very few Anniversary cards made ahead & thought this image would be cute for a few... Here is my first attempt at an Anniversary Card with these adorable love birds! The background CS is REAL RED (51/2 X 51/2) although the picture doesn't do it justice! Must be because it is such a "dull" day - I used a Top Note inside , took a heart stamp from "Simply Said", thumped it with 3 different color markers, stamped it on the Top Note!

Thanks for stopping by!
Hugs and joy!

Butterflies and Sanded DP for Thursday

This was supposed to be Thursdays's post --- having some trouble with the time - will try and get it figured out!
Here is a very simple card I made using up some of the "scrap stash" ... I have so much piled here and there! I am going to try and make a bunch of simple cards over the next few days ... using up a lot of this pile and the retiring DP... and other stuff... so stay tuned!

This is NOT Stampin' Up! paper -I am a nut for pretty paper - picked this up somewhere in my travels! :)
Wasn't it warm yesterday!!!!! But - Oh! So nice!
Have a great day! Photobucket

More Shutter Cards!

Hi all!
What a day yesterdsay was - did it ever rain! Then some sun - and the humidity! Whoa!!!!
And today is another day!
I am showing you a couple tri-shutter cards I made for the workshop the other night ... and a surprise!
I call this one the Psychedelic Card! Don't yah love the colors? (NOT Stampin' Up! DP) ... It's not completed - I wanted the gals to see how the paper was cute to fit the spaces...
I gave this next one to the hostess... it is partially completed - she can finfish it off... I applied the DP in a different fashion ... like this one too!
Surprise!
There is also a pattern for the same type of card cut at 51/2 X 11... so you can use the 81/2 X 11 paper for it... here are a couple samples made by my good friend Myra - aren't they pretty? She did a great job!

Have a great day and I'll see you tomorrow!
Hugs!

Baby Wipe Technique - again.

Hi All!
I had this set to post during the night - don't know what happened to it! anywho..... here it is!

I decided to do the Baby Wipe technique for my workshop last night. There were 3 new stampers there! It's so great to see people get creative and have lots of fun!
I made a sample card (2 actually - one for the hostess and - one to send to my daughter - can't show you that one till it gets in the mail!)
I also did a couple sample pieces to show (gave these to the hostess) and then I demo-ed the technique using different colors than those used on either of these samples!

Hope you enjoy peeking here today!
The card for the hostess: I used So Saffron & Elegant Eggplant CS; Ink - Eggplant, Old Olive, More Mustard; and the stamps set "Upsy Daisy" with the sentiment from "Aways In My Thoughts" which will retire in a few days! If you are interested in any of the retired sets give me a call.... I will be placing an order within the next couple days!

Here are the samples using Crushed Curry, Old Olive, Tempting Turquoise and "Friends 24-7" stamp set. Isn't this a pretty combo?

Blessings & Hugs!
May this be a wonderful creative day for you all!

Trendy Trees

Good Morning!
I have 2 cards to show you this morning... I've been experimenting with a new set called "Trendy Trees" - I ordered it a while ago and when I rec'd it I thought "What will I do with this set?" It's pretty basic ... I know I'll find more to do with it. This set requires the use of the Stamp-a-ma-jig...for placement of the leaves with the trunks.
If you want to see something really inspirational check out Michelle Zindorf's blog http://zindorf.blogspot.com/ ... a few days ago she made a wonderful scenic card with it! I love her work!
Here are mine!

Have a great day!

RAZZLEBERRY DELIGHT!

Hi Everyone!

I had an opportunity to "play" yesterday and have a few samples to show you this week using the new In Colors! They are so bold! WhooHoooo!

Here is a card using Rich Razzleberry and Crushed Curry CS; and DSP "Razzleberry Lemonade"; Razzleberry Ribbon. I used a new 2nd level hostess set entitled "Asian Artistry" ... of course this appealed to me b/c it has grass, a bird, two different flowers.... and a dragonfly as well as a sentiment. It's a really nice set. I hope to see lots of hostesses hold Workshops that get them to where they achieve a level 2 set.
This card is 51/2 by 51/2 ... I seem to be drawn to this size lately.

I used markers on the flower and grass... and here is the inside of the card.

Have a wonderful day!

This is a quick post as I have to do some writing tonight! See you tomorrow!

Handmade Flowers

A few days ago I made some "funky" flowers and made a couple cards with them... but then everything went crazy so I'm just now getting them on my computer!

I tore circles of different sizes from cardstock; rolled their edges in; placed them together and held them together with brads; hand cut some leaves and stamped them; then roughed up the edges with my fingernail... and Voila! Here they are.

The flowers were fun to do!

The colors I used were from the color challenge at http://kwernerdesign.com/.... I missed the deadline to post them on her blog so ... Oh Well!

My New inks and papers arrived - but I haven't had a chance to get at them>>> Hopefully today! But Hey! The catty is great!
Have a great day!

White and Black!

I used white as the card base this time. The stripped white and textured black are from Stampin'Up! and the flower is a digi image from Nina at http://ninabdesigns.blogspot.com/
I popped a leaf and a couple of the "smaller" flowers! Isn't it awesome how many small flowers make a "big" flower? What an amazing creation of our amazing Creator!
Enjoy - see you soon!
