OCC Sketch Challenge

Here is the sketch challenge from Our Creative Corner... I decided to give it a try and came up with a fairly simple card using Tea Party DSP; So Saffron and Almost Amethyst CS; a Pretties flower dyed with reinkers; a crochet flower and brad in the center of the flower; and a simple sentiment from a level one hostess set.

Have a relaxing Sunday; spend time with family and the Lord! See you all next week!
Blessings!

Happy Anniversary!

Good Morning!

I made a couple anniversary cards the other day! Couldn't show them to you until I had given one to friends who have been maried for 38 years! How awesome is that?
Here they are - made with the brushed gold paper from Stampin' Up! and gold embossing!
Used the heart from the Sale-a-Bration set called polka dot punches! I really like this set!
Lots of fun to do!
Enjoy!
Peace and hugs!

Sanded Upsy Daisy

Hi All!
Oh, it's so good to see the sunshine! It just gives me that little "pick-me-up" to keep me plugging thru the winter! Can't wait for spring so I can get outside in the gardens and on the deck and..... enough said!

Here is another Upsy Daisy card I did yesterday ... I ran the DSP thru my CuttleBug using the Swirls Texture Plate from Stampin' Up! and then I sanded the DSP so the white shows thru... How cool is that? Also made a tiered bow - (not sure if I like this bow or not).

Gotta get cracking! Lots to do today! Doctors appointment; groceries; get ready for a workshop tomorrow... and we`re having a Demos meeting here on Tuesday so I have to do some cards for a swap! This is always fun!

Have a GRRRRRRRRRRRRRREAT day!
Blessings on yah!

Upsy Daisy

I am posting this before I head for bed... I had 2 cups of coffee this evening (don't ususally do that) and am wide awake! Here are 2 cards I made recently using the Upsy Daisy stamp set! This is such a versatile set - it can be used for many occasions!
I stamped the Daisy stamp twice for each card... The first time I stamped it off on scrap paper and then onto the Whisper White CS; the second time I moved its position just a little and stamped it fully inked! I really like how this looks! I cased the idea from "scrapnextras" - she has a great blog! with lots of inspiration!
Enjoy!

Emboss & Color

Hi all! It's nice to see some sunshine coming in the windows! I thought I'd share with you a card I made along the same style as the one yesterday.... however, I did something a little different on the Top Note - I stamped the flowers and leaves with versamark and embossed them in white! Then I took my markers and blender pens and did some coloring on them ... I really like the end result!
Enjoy! Have a great day!

An Easter Card!

Hey!
So glad to be here! Finally! I was having withdrawals this morning! Our Internet has been "down" since Sunday sometime! I hope the problem has been fixed!
I haven't done a lot of card making this past week as it seems I haven't been home much! Yesterday a gal visited who hasn't done much stamping and we made a bunch of cards ... this being one of them! I used the new Stampin' Up! Eyelet Border Punch (which I love!) - and was going to do the complete edge of the card, when I realized the nice effect it was to leave the straight edge in place... this is the result! I placed some DSP inside the card so that when it is closed the eyelet area really stands out. The stamp set is from Our Daily Bread Designs.
Enjoy! And have a great "rest of the day" -

One Catty per year!

Hi all!
This may not excite you as it does me but here goes! Stampin' Up! has just announced that we will be returning to one catty per year starting in July 2009!!!! As a demo I am quite thrilled about that!

Here is a card I did a few months ago using the Inspired by Nature set! I used Tangerine Tango as the background CS and took my white Craft ink and brushed it over the CS to "tone it down" a little. I like this effect!

Have a blessed Sunday!

"His Holy Name Challenge"

Hi all!
I guess this is the "calm before the storm", aye? Yesterday was such an awesome day! I think I experienced some "spring fever"! :0
Just wanted to show you what I've been up to lately! The gal over at "triple the scraps" is hosting a challenge called His Holy Name - every so often she will give another attribute of God to focus on... I have decided to do a 6X6 scrapbook using thses attributes with Scriptures.
If you hit the button to the top left (His Holy Name 2009) you will be taken to her site... If you want to see what everyone is doing go to SCS, type HHN09 in the gallery search and you'll get it all!
Here is the cover page for my scrapbook and the first page (HOLY)... I have decided to carry a theme throughout using the middle sized scallop die cut for the Scriptures (in my own handwriting), black as my background for each page, and the Wild West Alphabet!! Who knows! I may get more daring as time goes on and really lay on the embellishments on a page or two!!!!

Hope you enjoy looking!
Have a great day!
Blessings to you all!

Check this out!

HEY!
You gotta go to Michelle Zibndorf's blog for February 17...she has done an awesome scene using the tree from Branch Out!!!!
ENJOY!!!

I'm Branching Out - again!

Hi all!
I have so much to show you I want to post it all in one session.... but I'm going to try and restrain myself! If you've never checked out Michelle Zindorf's blog you have to do that! She is amazing and does some beautiful work! I have attempted here to use a simple stamp set and "dress it up" using some of the techniques I've learned from Michelle! Wouldn't it be awesome to attend one of her workshops??? I sure think so! Here are 2 cards I made using the Stampin' Up! set "Branch Out"... same technique of masking and sponging - just with different colors! The words I used are from an old retired set called "Amazing to Zany"... in which you can make may combos of phrases...(this is a keeper for me!)
Have a wonderful day!

Blessings on yah!

CuttleBug cutouts

I had some "inspiration" hit me this morning. I had thought of the So Saffron and Choc. Chip together as I went to bed last night.... so had to try it. The idea of cutting around the CB embossed area was cased from krischir on SCS.
This second card was done using Very Vanilla as the base CS...

Enjoy!

BVC 09 - February

Good Morning Everyone!
Hope everyone is having a good day so far!!! Today I am going to show you the Scripture Memorization Journal that I am working on - this will be a year long project! I decided that my Resolution for 2009 would be to memorize more Scripture! I have set myself a minimum limit of 12 - but am praying that God will increase my capacity to take in many more! So - to keep me on track I started a Scripture Journal for 2009. Last month I discovered a Bible Verse Challenge and decided to participate in it. If you go to "Splitcoast Gallery BVC09" you'll see some amazing entries!

Scallop Die Cut

Good Afternoon Everyone!
You'll never guess where I was first thing this morning! I went to town for PEDICURE, and a trim of my slow-growing hair. I had this Pedi booked for 2 months - my treat to myself come February - to beat the winter blahs! Oh! It feels sooooo good! The driving wasn't bad when I came home around 11...but it looks worse out there now!
Have you ever decided to make a card, had a plan in mind, but ended up far away from that plan? And wondered how you got there? Well! That happened to me last night! I sometimes find the "creative bug" biting me late in the evening when I should be thinking about going to bed!

Anywhoooo! I had seen a design challenge that I wanted to try so... picked up this scallop die cut and thought I would work with it! Needless to say, this card is so far off the mark it's crazy! But I love how it turned out! SO - I guess you could say I did my own design challenge - without even knowing it! ;)

Hope you enjoy!
Have a cozy day inside!
Let the creative juices flow!

4 X 4 Pocket Silhouettes

Hi everyone!
Wasn't it great to have some sunny, warmer weather today?
But - I hear the groundhog has said there will be 6 more weeks of winter yet! Did we ever think otherwise?
Here is a simple card I made a while ago ... 4X4 size using the set Pocket Silhouettes... I really like this set for making this size card... you will find this set on page 86 in the Catty - the price is a very reasonable $22.95.
Sale-A-Bration is now on! - until the end of March '09 ... for every $60.00 purchased before S & H and Taxes ,you may order a free item from the SAB booklet. When you hostess a workshop of at least $350.00, you'll receive a free SAB item in addition to the hostess benefits!
I'm holding a workshop this coming weekend - if anyone wants to add an order to that workshop you may call or email me before Friday, February 6th.
Have a wonderful Tuesday! {storm and all!}
Joy and Peace!
