Thank You! and more!

Good morning!
Towards the end of this post you'll find a card I submited to a color challenge this morning over at "Get Sketchy" - http://getsketchy.blogspot.com/

The other day I made some very simple blank Thank You cards by using 3 punches, one sentiment and white CS. I punched the "squares " from DP using 3 different Stampin' Up! punches and placed them - using dimensionals - on the CS ... stamped the sentiment - ready to write a note in - how cool is that? Here is another simple one!

Sometimes I love to sit and do a card that is full of layers and embellies - I so enjoy seeing the complexity of the card at the end - and having such a sense of satisfaction with it.
Like this one here - using one of my fav colors!

No matter the mood I'm in at the time I can "get lost" in the card making!
Well! I have found a new way to get "lost" - sometimes that's not so hard for me to do the way my mind is lately! LOL! :)
It is in the zentangle!!!!

Here is one from yesterday called "Relaxation"...
Have a blessed Christmas! May you experience Peace and Rest over these coming days!

"PEACE" doodle

Hi again!
I sat down this afternoon to "doodle"!
I am experiencing such peace at this time of year! ... am very thankful for that!
So of course that is where my mind headed!
Here is the beginnning of my "doodle" ... And here is the finished product ... used Stampin'Up! markers to do a little coloring! I have another one to show you but will save that one for later; along with some cards!

Hope you've had a WARM DAY!!!

More Guests!

Good Morning All!
It's another cold windy day! Makes me want to stay close to the fire with a good book, or a movie.
Last night some "crafty" buddies came over for a "get-together" - of course, there was lots of food and laughs, and a nice relaxing time was had by all!

Here is a Christmas card from,Cindy. You go girl! Love how she used the DSP here... This is a box of homemade candy (UMMMMMM) from Debra - she is the "Queen" of boxes and tags! I was so eager to get into it I forgot to take a pic of it all tied up in a bow! Hope you can imagine how pretty it was!

Debbie brought each gal a little gift ... a cup filled with goodies and her special cider packets! How cool is that?
Stay warm and safe!
Only 7 more sleeps!
Whoa!
Is that right??????
Yah!
7 more... oh my - hope you're ready!

A Guest; and "Zentangle"

Wow!
This was a COOOOOOOLD one wasn't it?
And windy!!!
It feels good to be inside with the wood keeping me warm!
Here is a Christmas card we received today - clean and simple ... love this angel and babe embossed in gold!
Thanks Gary & Myra!
Have you ever heard of a Zentangle? [zen = relaxation; tangle = doodle] Don't recall how I happened upon this the other day but it has captured my attention ... I love to doodle. I cannot draw - am not an artist ... but "doodle I do"! I watched a few videos about using doodling in scrapbooking and card making, and decided to give this a try. I am making long full-year calendars for people - just a simple thing to add to a gift - can be used as a book mark - instead of covering the back with CS and embellishing I decided to "doodle" on them before I laminate.
I just had a blast doing this one! My first!
You may think I've gone a little around the bend but - hey! that's OK!
Zentangles are an art form and I intend to pursure this over the next few months - I'll keep you informed of my progress - or lack thereof! :)
Here is my first sample ---Hope you enjoyed your peek here today and had a little chuckle in the process! Merry Christmas!

Cards I've rec'd

Hi everyone...
It's another wet day ... sure doesn't look like Christmas around us here in our little part of the world, does it? Thankfully the weather doesn't dictate to us ---- I hope you all have an abundance of Christmas Spirit in your hearts.
Here are some cards I've received lately....
This one is from Coralie -- Nice job, Girl!!!!

This is the front of Bonnie's - every year she does a handmade card with a beautiful note in side... this year she crossed stitched an angel - gorgeous!

Love this one from Gail. Isn't it interesting how we all have a "signature" to our card making style! I love the simple elegance of this card! Thanks, Gail! You rock!

Hope you enjoyed your little peek here today!
I've been slowly working with my new "stuff" - will have more to show you tomorrow!
Stay well!
Blessings and hugs!

Fancy Folded Card Front

Hi everyone ...
Just a quick post as we are heading to hubby's parents for an anniversary / birthday celebration - even tho both of us are not up to par today.... with these colds and all!
I visited a site the other day and found some intriguing things there - such as this card front ... check Valita out at http://valitasfreshfolds.blogspot.com/ - she definitley was the inspriation for this card ... Thanks, Valita!

I used a new clear mount set "Vintage Vogue" from the Stampin' Up! mini; a new corner Punch!
LOVE IT !!!!! :)
- soft suede, crushed curry, and rich razzleberry inks; DSP. Oh yah! And some glitter!
The folded front is soooooooooooooooooo easy once I figured it out!
Hope you enjoyed this today!
Have a great weekend ... see you on Monday!

Black & White & Rich Razzleberry!

Thanks for peeking!

This is not a Christmas Card!

Hey!
I wanted to just "play" today ... and not think about the Christmas Cards I still need to make ... to do something a little different... so here it is! I have this DSP paper from the Holiday Mini - which will be closing as of January 4, 2010... it's called Night and Day Speciality ... [all black and white and a couple sheets of vellum]. I had the urge to make a black and white card that was NOT a sympathy card.... I added the Bermuda Blue as an accent color and think it turned out quite nice!
The other day a friend and I cut out some chip board pieces using the Nesties - to allow us to have an "unembossed" space with embossing around it when we run the CS thru the CuttleBug or Big Shot. I like how that turned out too!
Am I sounding pretty prideful today? Don't mean to! But I'm feeling the MOJO again! Finally!!! :0

Here is the inside where I will add a note of appreciation to some special person or people!
Hope you enjoyed this peek into my little world today!
Have a wonderful week!

Inspiration Challenge #209

Yesterday afternoon I visited Mercy Kerin's blog ... where she had created a card for the Inspiration Challenge at splitcoast...
So I thought I'd give it a try as well ... The idea was to go to Charm Lady Boutique and use something from there as your inspriration... here is the charm I chose
Here is the card I made using this charm as my inspiration....

I used DP from "The Write Stuff" - this is Ruby Red in color; of course, my old standby of Old Olive CS; the Elegant Bouquet Embossing folder. I embossed the CS and then used the bleach technique on it. The sentiment is from the Friendly Words Wheel - which I cut apart to give me lots of versatility!

Here is the inside! I will write a note of thanks here - a friend is bringing us some homemade beans this afternoon ... she made a double batch of the best beans in the world - as far as I'm concerned! Thanks, Janet! :0

And here is my "humility square" - see the ink at the top of the card front? I still had my ink pad open when I opened the card and voila! there's ink on the front... so - I must confess that I'm not as perfect as everyone thinks I am! ha ha ha ha ha! :)
I hope you enjoyed your visit here today!
Blessings on yah!

Exciting News from Stampin'Up!

The Occasions Mini Catalogue will be available on the 5th of January 2010... Every stamp set in the mini is available in wood-block mount OR in clear-mount thus requiring less storage space! WoooHooooo! Can you tell I like that?
For you ribbon lovers you'll find 9 colors of 5/8" Satin Ribbon to choose from! Gotta like that!
OH - and there is so much more!
Also - Sale-a-Bration starts on January 5 and runs til March 31 - spend $65.00 and earn a free SAB product of your choice.... and the choices have expanded too! Wait till you see what is available!
Give me a call to book a workshop in January or February.
And don't forget - I have Gift Cerificates available - so put a little 'bee' in Hubby's ear and have him call me for a gift certificate that you can use in the New Year! Sounds like a great Christmas present to me!!!
Hope you're enjoying this Saturday!
Have a good weekend ...

AWOL!

Hey all!
Sorry I've been AWOL!
Any paper crafting I did last week was related to more Christmas cards.... and I don't want to show them all on here.... cuz then there will be no surprises for those of you who will be receiving one!
I am making a few yearly calendars - as I did last year - I've had a few requests for a 2010 ----
here are a couple pics ...

Have to do some grocery shopping, and some preparation, for 2 different get togethers in the next 2 days ... so today will be a busy one!

I hope you don't let this season stress you - but that it will be a time of reflection and rest... and may you remember that "Jesus is the Reason for the Season!"
Blessings!

PPA17 and Guests...

Hi everyone!
Aren't you lovin' this weather? I sure am! The sun is shining bright and it currently is 9 degrees C. here. I hope we don't have to "pay" for it eventually by being snowed in!!! Oh well! Maybe that wouldn't be so bad either.
Here is my submission for Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge ... this sketch was a fun one to do. I used some retired DSP - I now have another Christmas card for my stash ... I'll eventually get them all done!

Here is the inside of the card....

We had Club the other night ... a couple of the girls brought some items they'd been working on .... here they are for you to see.
Debra is our "box" expert .... I think she has made every box going! :) Here she did the decorated tealights and a box to give them as a gift! Here is the Top Note Box that she made...
Debbie has been working on her Christmas cards - using family pics. - and you can see she loves her Cuttle Bug!Another of Debbie's cards!
I rec'd the ornament punch the other day from Stampin' Up! and decided to "play" with it... had seen a flower made with it .... here is what I came up with - the girls all had a chance to make one of these the other night. I've already shown you all the other things we did that night! Lots of fun!

Have a great weekend - We have family visiting this weekend! Can't wait to see them!
Blessings,
Ruthie
