Final Christmas Cards of 2012

Hey Stampers!
I guess the countdown is on now, aye? One week from today is Christmas Eve... I still think we lost a week or so in December somehow / somewhere. Over the weekend we had the opportunity to attend two different Chritmas presentations - the music and the message were wonderful!
Today I have the final cards I have made for Christmas - within a few days I will have a sneak peek for you of something from the new Spring catalogue (mini).

Thanks for peeking today... I hope you are not allowing the busy-ness of this time of year to get in the way of the peace and joy that comes with the celebrations!
Merry CHRISTmas to all!

Come to Bethlehem...

Good morning stampers!
I have a quick post for you today... a couple cards we made at Klub on Saturday. We had a Christmas potluck! Wow! We had enough food to feed an army, I think! Then we made these cards!
Here is the first one using a new-to-me set ... we used Crumb Cake CS and DSP, Early Espresso ink - I may have to make a few more cards using this set! LOL!

Here is card #2 - using the Apothecary Art stamp set and the dies to match.... I know this isn't your typical Christmas set but thought I'd give it a try - and it works for me! LOL!
I have one more posting of Christmas cards which will come in the next couple of days... after that, the Christmas sets are put away for another year. On to other "stuff"!
Have a great day and remember to keep SIMPLICITY a key element in your Christmas!

Merry CHRISTmas everyone!

Oh, Christmas Tree...

Hi Stampers...
I've been busy making Christmas cards... had a friend stop  by yesterday afternoon after she finished work and we spent a couple hours making cards! Such fun ! Here are a few of them!

These first 2 are made with that "old stand-by" set ... Lovely As A Tree. I have cased this one but don't remember from whom! The differnece in the 2 cards is the DSP placement and the ribbon adn crochet trim.

This next one is not a Stampin' Up! stamp ... I have had this little guy for a few years - isn't he the cutest thing you ever saw? I realize these are not the traditional Christmas colors but they are 2 of my fav together! Hope you enjoy!
Have a wonderful weekend!

November Klub

Wow! Is it cold enough for yah? The wind is very raw today!
Here are the cards we made at our November Klub get-together...
This first one is pretty simple ... I had started out making an all-white card, but then decided to use some of the flocked Christmas paper so had to make it "red and white" - love the simplicity of it.
This card uses the snowflake die - two shades of blue - a lighter one behind the darker to create a shadow effect ...
Here is the inside using the two little snowflakes from the die...

This one is my fav I think! I love snowmen and he is just soooo cute! Tiddly work but love the end result!
These next 2 pics are some of the girls' creations

This card uses the NEW single stamp - Bold Snowflake ... embossed with Cherry cobbler embossing powder, as well as the sandable CS.
I have been creating Christmas cards for the past 2 hours ... came out of my craft room to post these for you - and after about 1/2 hour I heard a loud crash. Back to the craft room to find that the wheel had come off one of my rolling carts and it has toppled over ... what a mess I now have to go in and clean up! Oh well! I'm considering it all JOY! :)

Have a great weekend!

The Golden Bird

Good Afternoon!
I have been very neglectful of this blog and my stamping - Card Klub met here last Saturday and I took some pics which I'll post over the next couple days!
In the mean time I have been finishing up my FIRST EVER RUG HOOKED piece! What a fun thing to do...something I have always wanted to try my hand at. TA DA! Here she is - the "Golden Bird"! There were only 2 students in the class which made it great for personal time with the teacher. Each one of us hooked the same pattern but in our own color schemes.
I will use this as a table runner in the Kitchen or on the small table in the Sunroom...Of course, I did my own thing! For example the small flowers on the ground, and the yellow on the tips of the buds; and my initial.

Yesterday I started my second piece - designed by me. It is a "doodle" of my own which I will adapt to an 18" x 15" piece. This is being hooked on linen while the Golden Bird was hooked on burlap.

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a blessed day... Remember to keep CHRIST in CHRISTmas!

MORE Frosty Friends

Good Rainy Afternoon!
At least that is what it is doing here in this little part of Nova Scotia! Sure isn't "snowman weather". However, I love snowmen and I have 2 more Frosty Friends cards for you today. I sponged the snowflake die cutouts and then added glitter. Aren't they pretty?

Thanks for stopping by!

Frosty Friends

Well - sure isn't frosty weather here! Whoa! Temperatures of 12 - 17 degrees C. However, it is time to get a-going on the Christmas cards. Here is one I made using the stamp called Frosty Friends - aren't they cute? As you can see I used a piece of the sandable CS and some DSP - I really like the brown, red, and green together.
Here is the inside... using the single "Merry Christmas" stamp...

And then I spent some time coloring - using markers and blender pens ... now to go make the cards!
See you later - enjoy this awesome weather...

Lovely As A Tree

Good morning everyone!
I am back after having had a good break. I have been enrolled in a rug hooking class - and loving it! I will show you my first project once it is completed. For now, here are two cards I made using this most versatile set of all time - "Lovely As A Tree".

Card #1: I used the oak leaf as the primary focus; stamped it and embossed it with clear embossing power - which really doesn't show in the picture; and attempted to make the card sort of shabby in appearance.

Card #2: using River Rock and Old Olive ink I used two different stamps from the set; added some glitter, DSP, and ribbon for a very simple Christmas card.

Card #2 inside...

Thanks for stopping by. Comments are much appreciated. Will return in a couple days.

In EVERYTHING Give Thanks

Good Morning...
Just a quick post this morning as I have a busy day lined up! I made this card the other eveniing after my order from Stampin' Up! came in... I had just received the woodgrain folder and the Sandable CS in Early Espresso... so - for sure - I had to make a card with them! LOL! I know you know what I'm talking about!
I cut some leaves using the Big Shot die - spritzed them with water, crinbkled them up ... let them dry and then sponged them with ink; adhered them together with an antique brad and popped them on the woodgrain embossed CS.

How easy was that!?!
Enjoy your day - it's a beauty!

Oh Christmas Tree ....

Hi Stampers!
Hope you are lovin` this beautiful Fall Day!
I arrived home yesterday after a full day in town... and found 4 boxes from Stampin' Up! on my doorstep. I should have taken a picture! Took me a while to get it all sorted and bagged up ... Lots of gals out there will be enjoying "new stuff" this weekend!
Here is the Christmas card I made the other day! The card is an adaptation of a couple different cards I had seen on Pinterest - do you go there? Whoa! What a place!
The tree is made from half a circle and it is all in the folding! So easy to do once you know how to make the folds. Of course, glitter and bling had to be added to make this card shine!

Here is a close up of the tree...
Thanks for peeking today!
Have a wonderful weekend...
for all you local gals - don`t forget the Fall Fling at the Lions Club tomorrow from 10-1 ... admission is a Toonie; all Make and Takes are a Toonie each... so get your bills changed into those Toonies and come have some stampin`fun!

Let's do the TWIST!

Hi everyone!
TGIF!!!
Do you remember the days of the TWIST? I used to love to do this dance.... couldn't do it today though! I have a Twisted Card for you today! We will be doing this one at our Card Klub tomorrow!

If you read yesterdays post you will recall that I had a Workshop last night ... and was "worried" that I might forget something! WELL! What are the chances? I did! The ribbon for the card - of all things ... guess I forgot to cut it and put it in the packages! DAH! Even funnier than that I assumed that being in a workplace environment the hostess - nor anyone else - would have what I needed!

WELL! THEY DID!!!
Go figure! One of the gals had the ribbon in her desk .... ummmmmm??? :)  Interesting! These girls have regular card-making times together! Gotta love that!

Enough talking - I just thought you'd get a chuckle out of that! Here's the card...

Closed - (there is a pocket here on the front but I have adhered the CS together- you could leave it open if you chose to do so)
 Open ... left side
Open ... right side ... has a pocket for a gift card or $$$ etc.
Thanks for stopping by today ... I will return next week!

Happy "I DO" Day & and Thank You

Hi Stampers!
This will be a quick post as I have a Stampin' Up! Workshop tonight and I must go pack my stuff! I am always so afraid I am going to leave something home! Most of the time - if I did so - the hostess would probably have it in her craft room. However, tonight I am going to a workplace where I need to bring it all! Here's hoping! :)

Here are 2 different cards I made over the past week... Enjoy!
A wedding card for a wonderful couple! The bride was one of the most beautiful brides I have ever seen!

I sanded the CS for this thank you card ... the CS is in the Holiday Catalogue...

This is the inside of the Thank You card - pretty simple!
Thanks for stopping by ... may you be blessed today!

Shabby Papaya

Good Morning Everyone!
It is a beautiful sunny day here.... hope you are all enjoying sunshine somewhere ... if not outside then for sure in your hearts! :)
I have a shabby card today using the Papaya Collage stamp set - I had so much fun making this card. There is no rhyme nor reason to it! Hope you enjoy it this morning!

Life truly is a matter of moments and it can be taken from us in an instant - I spoke yesterday with a gal whose F-I-L had died in a freak accident last week ... her words were "Our lives changed forever in a second." God be with them. And may we treasure each and every moment we have!

This is the inside of the card -

I think we will make this one at Card Klub this weekend! :)
Blessings and HUGS!
Remember to "treasure the moments!"

Gumball Tango Dragonfly...

Good Morning Stampers!
Whoa! It has been a looooong time since I have been here!
Life just got tooo crazy for me to keep up with it all ... I did a lot of paper crafting over the past 2 weeks - a friend and I made 100 + of the following:  book marks using the Two Tags die and scallop circle punch; little "purses" to hold 2 candy kisses using the Two Tags die; name tags using the large Maple Leaf from the Big Autumn Accents die; decorated the fronts of colorful bags with the largest Apothecary Accent Framelit (stamped with Scripture and Swirls) - PHEW!!!! I wore myself out just typing that! LOL!

Our church hosted the Beth Moore Simulcast this past Saturday ... we had about 100 people present - next year we are trusting for at least double that. The amazing thing was that there were 150,000 women attending that Simulcast worldwide! 50 States; 9 Provinces; 3 military bases; 2 women's prisons; AND - countries across the world! How awesome is that!!!! If you have never attended such a thing I urge you to do so as one of the most refreshing events in your Spiritual Journey.

So ... I wish I had taken some pictures as we progressed thru all that! However, I did take a couple pics of 2 cards I made when another friend visited one afternoon - just to play! She had purchased some dies and wanted to use them ... I LOVE dragonflies ... she gave me the little dragonfly die! Isn't he sweet??? Love, love, love it! here are the cards!
I used Tangerine Tango and Gumball Green ... don't you love that combo??? The pic does not do the card justice! The green is the Core'dinations CS from the Holiday catalogue - this is sandable CS.
Also used the Delicate Designs Folder ... another new favorite!

For this card I used Calypso Coral CS and DSP ... again I used the Delicate Folder - cutting along the scallops to make it a softer edge.
So much fun! Did you notice???? I turned the embossed CS to the negative image in the second card!

Have an awesome day! I have 2 workshops and a local Demonstrators Fall Fling to preapre for so .... will be busy in the carft room for sure!

More Serene Silhouettes

Hi Stampers!
Fall is upon us by the feel of the air - especially at night!
And the days have been busy ones!

I did manage to get in my craft room the other day for a bit and I made these 2 cards - pretty much cased from one I saw either on a blog or on Pinterest ... I changed the colors to suit me - using Wild Wasabi green and Vanilla.
I stamped the silhouette in Soft Suede on this one -  and it was great until I embossed the whole thing and then it sort of disappeared into the embossing. So because of that I made a second one  - see below....

I stamped the silhouette in Early Espresson on this one and it still stood out after being embossed... and I added lace instead of ribbon - I like this one better than the first one.

This is a view of the inside of the card ... both the same ...
Thanks for stopping by today ... hope you have had a great long weekend before the start up of school and all that that entails for those of you with children in school!
Blessings and HUGS!

Pink, Pink, and More Pink

Good Morning Stampers!
It sure feels like fall today - looks like it and smells like it! :)
I guess it is inevitable!

PINK!
Not a color that is on my favorite list -
Not a color I use a lot in my stamping!
Not sure why - I just don't gravitate towards it..... but - one day I decided to make a pink card! I may have gone overboard here! LOL!
Here it is!

Here is the inside -
I
I have a friend that would love this card just by virtue of the fact that it is pink!!!! Look out Deb it may be yours! LOL!

Thanks for peeking in today!
Have a great Wednesday - the weekend is coming!

Winter Memories????

NO!
I don't even want to think about Winter ... but I guess it is inevitable! The seasons change and we must go with them! So - When the Holiday catty from Stampin' Up! arrived I saw a set in it that I was quite taken with - Winter Memories! Here are 2 cards I have made with this set ... both of the colored with blender pen and markers or ink pads.

Thanks for stopping by ... I`ll try to be more faithful in posting here this week. It has been a week since I`ve been in my craft room - the old fibro hit me and wiped me out! But I`m on the mend - hope to get some crafting done today!
Have a good one!
See you soon!
