Happiness!

Hi all! Hasn't this been a great day?
The peepers are singing in full chorus tonight!

Here is a card I made using one of the "sneek peeks" I showed you the other day.
I made this card for a friend who has just moved into a "new to her" home... used the SAB Designer Paper; and Dusty Durango CS.
I probably won't be posting again until next week - we are going to my daughters for the Easter weekend - am looking forward to that!
So - have a wonderful weekend yourselves!
May this be a time of reflection on the true meaning John 3:16.
Hugs and prayers!

Sneak Peek! AND - an Announcement!

Hi All!
I looked at my stampin' table Saturday morning and there sat some images I had stamped a while back that I have done nothing with yet .... I decided that whatever I make over the next couple of days would use these images! So - here is a sneak peek at my humble beginnings... this bird is from the level 2 Hostess set called "Wings of Friendship". Isn't he a beauty?

I will return at a later date to show you the finished projects.

We have had so much fun at the Stampin' Up! Hostess Club that I've decided to begin another club of a bit shorter duration. Required to start are 7 dedicated stampers who are willing to commit to ordering a total of $30.00 per month [before shipping & handling, and taxes]. This will enable each stamper to be a one-time hostess and recieve hostess benefits on her night.
This Club will start on May 10, 2010 ... and will continue through November for a total of 7 months (thus the need for 7 hostesses)... meeting on the second Monday of each month from 7 - 9 p.m. If you are interested in being part of this Club or have any questions shoot me an email at thisistheday@ns.sympatico.ca

I must have commitments from 7 people by April 30th, 2010 in order for this to become reality! :)

The benefits of joining such a club:
- each member receives a free Idea Book and Catalogue, and any minis that come out during the duration of the club.
- the opportunity to be a hostess and receive hostess benefits
- fun and more fun -
- learn some new techniques - each night we will do a technique with instructions and a card to file it on so you can complile your own technique booklet
- do 2 -3 cards/projects per evening.
- and did I say fun?

Thanks for peeking in today.
Blessings!

Spring Daffys!

Hi all!
The Daffys are peeking thru the ground! The Peepers are singing at night! Spring is in the air ... even though it was cold and snow flew around yesterday! Can't let that get us down!
Here is a spring card I made using the flower stamp from "Abundant Hope". I used Soft Suede and Whisper white CS, and the slit punch.

Here it is closed...

and here is the card partially open so you can see the circles.
The other day someone showed me a card made with this technique and I had to try it!
Hope you enjoyed your peek today!
Have a great weekend!
Keep looking up!

Happy Moments!

Good Friday Morning!
I've had a busy week so far ... hoping today is just a lazy one!
Here is a card I made a while back using a SAB set - "happy moments" ...

Next I have some pics from our last Club Night! Enjoy your peek!
In this one everyone is very intent on what they are doing....  we have lots of fun and lots of laughs too!

Here are a couple different takes on the card designed by Mary Fish at "Stampin' Pretty"

This last one was done using the "misting" technique.... such a simple technique - giving a softer image
Thanks for stoppping by! Have a great weekend! Blessings on you all!

Very Thankful!

I am feeling very thankful today! This has been an awesome week - weather wise! and - I've had the girls home and we've been so busy.... I've started on living a healthier life style - eating healthier and walking! and it is paying off!
Just a couple cards to show you that I made a while back... using the Very Thankful set. I actually cut the "thank you" away from the peacock - I love the font of it and know I'll use it a lot so wanted it to be separate from the main stamp.

Have a wonderful day!

I may not be around much next week as it is March Break and my girls are coming home for a few days! Can't wait to see them!

Curvy Flowers (from Mary Fish) - AND - I won Blog Candy!

Hey!
Another beautiful day!
     Don't yah love it?
Whoooo Hoooo - Last night when I checked my eamils I discovered that I was a random winner of Blog Candy from Color Throwdown   http://colorthrowdown.blogspot.com/
Don't  know what it will be - I'll have some surprises over the next couple weeks as each of the gals on their team will be sending me something individually! Such fun!

The card for today was totally cased from another Stampin' Up! demonstrator (Mary Fish).... check out her site here:
http://www.stampinpretty.com/

When I saw hers I just knew I had to copy it! I love the curvy lines and all the flowers... so simple to make and such a pretty end result! I made this one with "In Colors"; one day soon I'm going to do one for Easter using Soft Subtles and an Easter sentiment.

Have a great day!
Enjoy the sunshine!

Birds & Nests & Glitter...

Wasn't yesterday a beautiful day? And today the sun is shining again! WooooHoooo! The only bad thing about that is I can see how dirty the windows are! UGH!
I have a couple cards to show you this morning... this is a quick post b/c I have mega housework to do today! And I have to get on with it!
Here I used some miscellaneous DP from my stash and stamped a flower from Fifth Avenue on it and on the base CS; punched out a bird (isn't he cute?).
So simple!

I used the nest on this second one from Nature's Nest... and a bird sticker with glitter... both cards are springy.
I didn't put a sentiment on either as I will do that when I decide on the occasion I will use them for.

Have a wonderful day! May the sunshine put a spring in your heart! and in your step!
Blessings,
Ruthie

Color Throwdown #82

Here is a card I made the other day as a sympathy card for a friend whose brother has gone to be with the Lord! I had an idea regarding what I wanted to do with the border... I took the "damsak" stamp and made a border on Whisper White - didn't even use the Stamp a ma Jig ... pretty even, aye? I used the set "24-7"; one of my favs of all times! colors used - Night of Navy, Ruby Red and Olive Green. the next day I was checking Color Throwdown    http://colorthrowdown.blogspot.com/  for their color challenge and found this:

I know my card doesn't use the exact navy and I used White instead of Vanilla - but I just had to share it!

Hope you enjoyed! It's always fun to check the color challenges and sketch challenges that are out there... helps to keep the MOJO flowing. Next time I'll check first, before I make the card!  :)
Thanks for peeking!
Hugs!

Spring Tulips! PPA32

Yesterday as I was going thru some favorite card sites I happened upon a beautiful card made with the wings from the Bird punch... tulips!!!!! go figure! Now why didn't I think of that! LOL! check out this site: http://flowerbug.typepad.com/ - I know you'll keep going back there!

Here is my take on her Tulip Card - I used the large oval punch to create the vase - isn't this cute? Sorry - I can't take any credit for the design.... Thanks, Leeann!

Here is Myra's Tulip card! Don't yah love it?
She only used 2 "wings" (petals) to make one of the flowers a bud!
Well! Gotta think Spring even tho there is snow on the ground! That's my motto anyway!
Thanks for stopping by!
Have a great day!
Blessings!

Earthy Cards.

Hi all!
I made a couple cards the other day using certainly celery and some earthy colors using miscellaneous DP. This first one has the nest on it from Nature's Nest...

For this next one I used the flowers from Thoughts and Prayers...

Simple cards ... I'm of the mindset that lots of times "Less is More" .... what do yah think?
It's snowing today but hopefully it won't amount to very much .... yesterday you could almost feel spring in the air! Oh Well! We know it is on it's way! WOOOO HOOOO!
Have a good one!
Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Moments!

Hi Stampers!
Here it is Wednesday again... where did yesterday go?
Here is a card I made for a sweet friend of mine...
I used the Christmas ornament punch for the vase! (just cut off the bottom to make it flat) The Flowers are from the SAB set "Happy Moments"; Satin Ribbon; and Sweet Pea DSP

Above you see the inside of the card. I like to keep the inside simple.
Have a good day! Keep looking up! Spring is in the air!    :)
Blessings,
Ruthie

Nature's Nest

Good Morning everyone!
We had a great weekend... did lots of "girlie" stuff! :)
Here is a card I made last week from "Nature's Nest." This has to be my new "favorite" stamp set from Stampin' Up! It is so versatile! I used the grass from Inspired By Nature; the dragonfly and the turtle are from NN.
Of course, anyone who knows me well knows the dragonfly does it for me! Isn't he beautiful?

This is a close up of the turtle! ... he's pretty cute too!

Thanks for peeking today! keep checking back - my MOJO has returned! Have a wonderful day even tho it is rather dismal outside!
