August End....

Where did the summer go? I can't believe that it is the end of August today! Did you know that it is less than 4 months til Christmas?

And today is supposed to be as hot as or even hotter than yesterday!!!! Hurricane Earl is on his way towards us but no one can tell us what he will do as he arrives! Hope he passes by out at sea! :)

You're probably saying "Enough about the seasons and the weather...." so here is the card of the day! I am going to try to be better at posting ... maybe not every day but at least 3 times a week! :)

This was a card I made for a gal who had her 60th birthday yesterday - and didn't want a fuss made about it! However, her daughter surprised her with a party!!! The stamp is not Stampin' Up! but every thing else is...
I just love the new In Colors and the vibrancy of them! This DSP is called Greenhouse Gala  - love it too!

Gotta run - things to do - like laundry and such! Must do these things before I can spend any time in the craft room!

Have a great day - stay cool - thanks for peeking!

Glue Resist Again -

Happy Sunny Morning to you all!
Just a quick post to show you another card I made using the Glue Resist Technique... I hope you can see it well - I then stamped the vase of flowers on it, & added a little bling! Just a simple card -  but sometimes "less is more" so they say!

Have a great day today ... my afternoon and evening are full today so if I plan on any crafting it will have to be this morning...
Blessings on you all!

Tags & all,,,

Good Afternoon!
The morning got away from me!  however - I made this card... with "stuff" I had sitting on my table!
The "tag" is from the Big Shot Two Tags Die -
trying to find lots of uses for this so I can justify having bought it! LOL!

I used Blueberry Crisp DP - Stampin' Up! Pearls and punches and ribbon...
I did a different background technique on the tag - Glue Resist....
Dab glue on your White CS and smooch it around - when dry you sponge some color on the CS and the glue areas will resist the ink! I think I "dabbed" too heavy on this one...  but I'm using it anyway!!!

This pic is to show you all the layering I did ... this is "out of the box" for me - don't usually do this much!
Here is the inside of the card...
Now I must "clean up" the table and get to work ... my plan is to spend the afternoon, and longer if so desired, in this room - making cards for troops and a few Christmas cards for me .... and I have joined a S. Up! demonstrator swap ... have to make 11 card fronts with a Christmas theme -  want to at least get the design for that on paper today!

Hope you enjoyed your peek here today! Have a great day!
Blessings,

Blueberry Crisp!

Good afternoon!
Has this day been something else or what! Amazing weather!

I had lunch today with a friend I haven't seen all summer - we had a lot of catching up to do! Before I left the house I made this card for her...
I used the DP Blueberry Crisp - love the shades of blue and sand in this paper! Here is a peek at the new label punch that will be available in September when the new Mini goes into effect.

I hope you've had a great day!

More Christmas Cards

Good Morning!
Hope everyone had a great weekend - the weather here was awesome!

Here are 3 more Christmas cards I made ... using the Season of Joy set... one of my favs!
All of them are clean and simple!

Here I punched out three 1" circles and lined them up on the cherry cobbler CS as a border ... however, the ribbon has sort of hidden them - I LOVE this wide ribbon!

I stamped on the white CS on this next one .... and the one after I didn't do that .... what do you think? Which do you like better?
More pickles to be done today ----- WooooHooooo - have to run to town to get more bottles and vinegar!
Have a wonderful day everyone! Cherish the moments!
Blessings,

More Ornate Blossom...

Hi Stampers!

Here are a couple cards I made last week using the Ornate Blossom I had inked up a while ago!
Both cards are the same clean and simple design...
Here I inked the design in Daffodil Delight and then cut out the middle from a Cherry Cobbler blossom and popped it - also used some glitter!
With this one I used markers on the stamp... a little glitter in spots - matted and popped on the card.
Hope you can see the places I glittered here!
I am off  now to cut up onions and cukes for some pickles ... they have to sit overnight and then I bottle them tomorrow morning. I usually make my mom's relish recipe - relish that can be eaten with most anything ... I love it on rice, chili, spaghetti, baked potatoe... all those carbs...ummmm! and I also make bread and butter pickles! I LOVE making pickles! Can't tell you why but I get such a sense of satisfaction when they are done! :)

Have a wonderful day!
Blessings,

Christmas Window & More!

I was looking at my favorite blogs this morning and found a card similar to this one on Stamp TV with Gina K. A friend dropped in this afternoon and we started stampin' and each made a card like this. I used Cherry Cobbler and White, and some new DSP. A little bit of glitter on the M, the C, and the snow and, voila! Another Christams Card to add to my collection... which isn't very big at the moment - I hope to do a few Christmas Cards now and then so that I won't be overwhlemed nearer to the season! Next time I do one like this I will make the windows a little smaller, I think.

Here is a sampling of the cards Myra made today! Teddie was sooooo good - he slept almost all afternoon while we played. Gotta love that!

Thanks for peeking today!

Clean and Simple!

And oh, so pretty!

I love making simple cards - last week I spent some time helping a gal get her craft room together - we hadn't finished the project ... but we had moved the "stampin' table" into the room and we just had to sit down and make some cards. LOL! I mean, after all! Too much work and not enough stampin' makes one crazy! :) Or so I think!
I'll show you a couple of the cards I made in a minute...

Take a peek at the picture under my header.... that night as I drove home, the sun was setting in the west... I hurried (as much as I dared) to get home quickly. Our deck looks to the west and we see magnificent sunsets. This was the first time this summer I had seen the sun so "on fire" - it looked like a ball of fire in the sky - of course, the picture doesn't do the real thing justice. It was awesome to see! Just another reminder of how glorious our Creator is!

Here are a couple of the cards I made....some Stampin' Up product used and some non S. Up!
When I first saw Nature's Nest I didn't like the seashell... thought it was too small to do anything with. However, I've changed my mind - woman's perogative, right? Here I masked the Melon shell and stamped a Crushed Curry one behind it.

Maybe this little bird needs a branch in his mouth?????

Here is another peek at that sun - I have this kids song running in my head now - "Sun, Sun Mister Golden Sun ....."
I rambled this morning, didn't I? Hope you have a wonderful day today and that the SON shines in your heart!
Blessings!

Cards 4 Troops:

Good Morning,
Whoops! I guess it's afternoon now, isn't it?
Wow! a sunny and warm one it has turned out to be! Awesome!

I've been trying to get ahead on making some "cards for the troops" - we will be sending more over in September ... so want to have a lot of Christmas ones and some all occasion!
I made these 3 basic designs the other night...
Hope to get more done in the next couple of weeks!
I know the other gals are working at this too...
Well! It's too nice to be in here -
so - see yah later!
Thanks for stopping by!
Have a great day!

Another Visit to the Ornate Blossom!

Good Morning!
I was up last night at 1230 a.m. making this card - not because I 'had' to - but because I couldn't sleep. I did eventually get to sleep but had some of the craziest dreams .... makes one wonder what is going on in that head of mine that I'm not even aware of!
All the more reason to fill it with good thoughts and praise songs etc.! :)

Here is the first of many cards made with the Ornate Blossom ...
I used the color combo of Pacific Point, Old Olive, Melon Mambo.
You may recall - I spritzed the White with Melon  and the Blossom with Vanilla Smooch Spritz.
I LOOOOVEEEE this wide ribbon - it is so easy to manage, soft and pliable!

Here is the inside of the card... spritzed with Melon Mambo

It is just pouring down outside... a perfect day to stay right here in my craft room and be creative!
Gotta love that!
Maybe we'll have some thunder too! :)

May your day be filled with laughter and sunshine - even though it may be raining outside!

Multiple Blossoms!

Good Morning Stampers!
What a gorgeous day! This summer weather has been super!

Have you been like me this past week? So into everything else that stampin' has taken a "back seat"? I apologize for that - but it seems that LIFE took over this past week - however, yesterday I had a "brain wave" and did some stamping with my new purchase from Stampin' Up! - the Ornate Blossom. I haven't made the cards yet but I have the blossoms to show you.

Here is the Blossom using Daffodil Delight - The one on your left was sprtized with water (Water Splash Technique)  and the one on your right is full strength ink.... just to show you the difference.

This next one is done with Cherry Cobbler ink - same technique.

I used Pacific Point on this one.... spritzed it with the Vanilla Smooch Spritz; cut it out; used the Color Spritzer Tool with Melon Mambo marker and "spritzed" the background CS; sponged edges with PP ink - popped the blossom.

Seems to me I did a lot of "spritzing" !!!  :)

I will return to show you the cards within the next couple of days!
Have a wonderful day!
Enjoy the SUN!!!
Blessings!
