2nd Post for Friday

I have returned!
I have been working on the technique called "Polished Stone" - I did 4 different color combos and then stamped on each one with versamark ink and embossed the image. I'll work on the cards this weekend and have them to show you next week!

This technique is really simple to do: you need glossy cardstock; re-inkers; cotton balls; rubbing alcohol. Apply a couple drops of re-inker to the cotton ball, soak with alcohol and dab on glossy cardstock!
Here are my samples:

I hope you`ll give this a try!

Embossed Cardinal

Hi there!
Is it cold enough for yah?
When I left the house at 9 a.m. there was melting frost on my car windows! UGH!!!!

However, the best thing about this time of year is that Christmas is coming - too fast for some of us. Nevertheless - it is on it's way! And I LOVE the Christmas season! I have been trying to chip away at my Christmas card making - slowly it is coming together! Here is another card I made this afternoon! Hope you enjoy it! Isn't he beautiful?

I love this set ... 'A Cardinal Christmas' - I was so glad to see it in the 2009-2010 Catalogue from Stampin' Up! Last year I colored him in his glorious red - this year I am going to emboss him!
Hope you enjoyed your peek today!
Keep smiling!

Golden Sparkle!

Hi there!
I did a little stamping today... am trying to get ahead of myself - sometimes I feel like I'm running behind all day long! Ever feel that way?
I read a joke somewhere the other day - 2 little guys were talking and one said, "I want to press fast forward and all my parents want to do is rewind." Isn't that typical?

On with the card!
It's a simple card ... embossed with scallop oval nesties; stamped in side of each and embossed with gold embossing powder. Everything is Stampin' Up! except for the nesties. I'm glad this set - Season Of Joy - is still available this year - it is one of my favs. I used Kraft and Real Red Card Stock! I decided to put some gold embossing on the corners ... I went a little overboard on the bottom corners - oh well!

Sorry for the picture quality .... I really need to take my pics in daylight!
Thanks for stopping by!

October Guests!

Hi all!
Are you ready for this COLDDDDDDD weather we're having? A few days ago it was like spring; yesterday and today - more like Winter! Well. I guess we shouldn't be surprised, should we?
We held our October Club a few nights ago and the gals brought samples of things they'd been working on! Here's a few pics to share with you all!
These first 2 are Renee's creations!

Here is Debra's "Pumpkin Treat Box".... made with the oval punch.
These next ones are creations from Deb -

Each month one of the gals is the hostess ... it was Debra's turn in October and the food was almost too pretty to eat! Notice I said - Almost - :)
And last but not least - here is Teddie - he slept in his "room" most of the evening but he seemed to know when things were winding down ... and the gals were placing their Stampin' Up! orders, and he wanted OUT!!! Isn't he just the cutest thing you ever saw?

Gotta run. Heading to the Farmer's Market in a bit .... guess I'll put my "snuggies" on!
Have a great weekend!
Thanks for stopping by!

4 X 4 Easel Card

Happy Wednesday!
What a beautiful day!
Another one!
We are truly blessed!

We held Club 10 last night... and had a great time - as always!
Here is one of the cards we made ... a 4 X 4 Easel Card.

This is the open view -

And here is the closed view - How to make this card...
- Cut CS 4 X 8 for the base
- Score this piece at 2 and 4 inches - vertically; both are valley folds.
- Cover the "inside" with DSP
- Position a brad or button on this piece as a "stop" point.
- Cut the card front at 4 X 4
- Embellish as you wish
- Attach bottom of card front to the 2" portion of the bottom flap
- To display, card front will stand as an easel by placing it behind the brad/button.

To make this card a 6 X 6 - cut CS base at 6 X 12 inches and score at 3" and 6"; Card front would be cut at 6 X 6.

Enjoy the day!
Thanks for peeking in!

Crimped Christmas

Hi again!
Here is a Christmas Card I just made ... I took 2 squares of Whisper White, folded them on the diagonal so I had 2 triangles - then crimped these, unfolded them and placed them in the corners of the base CS - Bermuda Bleu. Then I stamped the smaller snow flake from the set "Snow Swirled" .... used Bermuda Bleu ink ... This is so simple yet so pretty! [the dew drops are non-Stampin' Up!]

Hope you emjoyed this simple little creation - My Christams cards this year will be simpler than other years! I'll keep you posted. Club 10 meets tomorrow night ... I'll take some pics of the "show and tell" items and post them for you to see later in the week!

Keep smiling! *** HUGS ***

Later!!!!

Boy!
Have I been neglecting my stamping!
have sort of lost the MOJO - but have also been extremly busy lately and stamping has taken a back seat to the rest! I plan to spend this afternoon and p.m. getting "back at it".......so I may have something for you later today!

Thanks for being so faithful and checking in with me!

LET IT SNOW!

NO!!!!!!!!!
I really don't mean that!!!!

Snow is beautiful on the trees and such ... but I realy don't like driving in it - even to go to town and back! However, I love to see it; and I love snowflake and snow men cards! So here is a simple card I made using the new DS Christmas paper from S. Up! ...and a simple sentiment from "Heard From The Heart". I had seen the 3 squares done in this way on someone's site over the past few days and really liked the effect! Not my own design!

This is the inside; again - very simple. I will add a sentiment and a note when I get ready to send this card!
Hope you enjoyed your peek today!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hey!
I am finding it hard to believe that Thanksgiving is almost here again! This weekend! Whoa! How did that happen. We will have Madison here for a few days - that is much to be thankful for!!!
Here is a card I made yesterday - love this ribbon and the fall DP. This is a clean and simple card ... didn't take anytime at all to put together - I need about 5 of these all pretty much the same!

Here is a view of the inside!

I'm off to the Valley this afternoon to pick up Madison. Can't wait to see her!!!
Thanks for stopping by!

More Christmas!

Good Morning!
It really feels like Fall out there this morning! BUT- it is gorgeous!

Here are 2 cards I made the other day - for the troops. I used the new Ornament Punch with Merry Moments DSP ... it's great! This punch is only availbale while the Holiday Mini is on .- until January 4, 2010. I'm sure if one had lots of imagination you could find all sorts of ways to use this punch!

This next grouping of cards was all made using White card stock and various stamps; AND scraps left over from one of the older S. Up! Christmas Simply Scrappin kits. I had used this kit to make 32 cards and had lots left over. This is just another way to show the versatility of the Scrappin' Kits.
I apologize for the color ... these were much prettier in real life! :)
Have a wonderful Fall day! Thanks for stoppin' by!

Cards for the Troops!

Hi All!
We are well on our way to an amazing gift of Christams cards for Caleb's platoon! We had so much fun! And gals all over are still making cards at home to add to the package! Our prayers are lifted as we make these and as we send them. Please remember to keep our young men and women in your prayers as they serve our country so valiantly! Thank you!
Here are some pictures!

This one is "Happy Stamper!"

Hope you enjoyed your peek this morning!
Have a great day!

Snowman Jr.

Good Morning!
I was looking at a card magazine this morning over coffee, and came across a card similar to this one. This is MY take on the card....
I didn't have a top hat so I used the Round Tab Punch and cut off the tab part and made a little guys hat! I think it works! Do you?
Used Black Brads for the buttons; Real Red ribbon for the scarf; and the DSP is Merry Moments. The sentiment is non-Stampin'Up!

Thanks for peeking in! I'm off to church soon for a card making day!!!! We're making cards for the troops! Have a good one everyone!
